I got the permission to post one of my recent commissions and I'm happy about this since it is one of my most favored works.
For the composition process I started with the background first by putting different elements of my photo references together. In most cases only a small section on the photo catches my eye so I blend all the different parts together to get a scene which looks somewhat authentic enough and then after this groundwork I start with the real painting step.
