My Loyal 50 Cent Army!

It certainly has been an incredibly eventful time for us! After a week in Oslo, Norway for the Oslo Freedom Forum, Matt, Shelley and I decided we’d had enough of travel for a little while. The next week, a million people took to the streets in Hong Kong. And we found ourselves on yet another plane ride to Asia.

We bought one-way tickets because we had no idea how long we’d be in Hong Kong. A week tops, we figured. We ended up staying for three weeks. Boy, I wish I had packed more socks. 

Your support while we were in Hong Kong was incredible. Not only by watching all our episodes and tuning in for our live broadcasts (sometimes in the middle of some very heated protests!). But your messages of support for Hong Kong meant a lot to the people we met. I can’t tell you how many times some young protester would ask me, “Do people outside Hong Kong know or care what’s going on?” And then I’d show them all the love you guys were sending. It really meant a lot. 

Of course there were a lot of challenges. Not the least of which was YouTube mysteriously demonetizing all our Hong Kong episodes. A reporter reached out to us for a whole story on it. YouTube still continues to demonetize or age-restrict our Hong Kong videos, but that’s not going to stop us from making them. And that’s because your support means we don’t have to be beholden to YouTube. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to fly to Hong Kong and make all those episodes. And your support is why we can say ad revenue be damned!

These are very interesting times as far as China is concerned. Besides global attention for Hong Kong, the Trump administration has made a particular focus on Chinese human rights issues, both President Trump and Vice President Pence meeting with Christian, Uighur, and Falun Gong activists. What a world we live in!

The Trade War has gone into full gear with tariffs being threatened now for all Chinese imports. And now the US Treasury has officially labeled China a currency manipulator. The Chinese Communist Party is heading toward a crisis unlike anything in its 60+ year history. And you can bet China Uncensored will be there to cover it.

And in other news, on August 25, I’ve been asked to host a live broadcast of NTD’s International Martial Arts Competition. Be sure to tune in! I’ll post more details as it gets closer to show time.
