#301 - THIS Is Why You CAN'T Pick Faster!

My friends, today I want to share a very important picking technique workout with you - with a special focus on one topic that's holding back a lot of players: the upward escape motion!

Download your practice files for this video (tabs, backing tracks, guitar pro, play-along videos): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_4naf6mJkJGc2cwkSzWixlbRwmrbz5b2?usp=sharing

This workout is easy to memorize but quite hard to execute - please pay close attention to the upstroke escape movement, so that you really work on perfecting this often awkward picking movement. This will open the door to so many awesome creative possibilities!

And as always, here's a Dropbox link for you in case Google Drive doesn't work: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/apkexnay2arike93qi3ik/h?rlkey=6kynm2yz1y6aj8p3z7wcqywcr&dl=0

#301 - THIS Is Why You CAN'T Pick Faster!

Just joined. Been playing for years but never had any speed. But then again I never knew how or what to practice. I'm usually a headless chicken so I'm going to stick on this lesson for weeks if need be to get it right. My weakness is both left and and poor pick technique. So I'll start on this and go from there. Great vids bro. Thanks so much.

Just joined and really enjoying the lessons. It would be helpful on lessons focusing on picking technique if I could see the pick movement on the strings.

Thanks your lessons are awesome as usual, just I wonder why with my guitar pro lesson on iPad the tempo doesn’t speed up. I wonder if it’s a bug from gp8 or if I missed something in setting…

I just want to thank you Bernth in general for all the lessons you have provided for this community 🙏 I've started playing guitar 20 years ago, but my technique has improved significantly during my practice hours with these lessons. Progress is slow but steady. Some times I feel frustrated and doubtful whether I will ever become better, and some days I'm amazed how my fingers can keep up with the tempo 😅 The best thing with the lessons is their versatility. I notice that my tremolo picking is improving while I'm practising string hopping.
