Yeah. It was kinda awkward. Chinese don't use satire. My wife who is from Hong Kong does get upset when people use satire with her.

2016-12-08 18:49:22 +0000 UTCChris's jokes seem to fall flat with his Chinese interviewees. It's not really his fault. Rather, I think it's a cultural gap; "Long Hair" and the Taiwanese people Chris interviewed just didn't connect with Chris's dry, ironic sense of humor. They took him at face value, which is rather dreary. For instance, when the activist in this video was asked why he was called "Long Hair," he should have gone with the joke, affecting a thoughtful, puzzled expression and saying, "You know, I have no idea!" Or something like that.
