#138 - The 6 BAD Habits Of Improvisation (How To Play Better Licks!)

It's finally time to talk about improvisation and guitar solos once again! You guys and girls voted for the topic of playing great lines and licks on the fly - so I thought it would be perfect to look at 6 BAD habits when it comes to this and how to easily change them :)

I can find myself in all of these 'bad' examples and the solutions really helped me with sounding more original whenever I encountered these issues. This doesn't only go for improvisation, this has also really improved my written guitar solos and lead tracks for compositions!

I transcribed everything for you, get the files below and have fun jamming to the backing track :)

What’s that for a scale in the beginning?? Ah ok got it, its E minor

The first solution makes so much fun to play, because it's not so hard and sounds great. Could play this lick for ever with the backingtrack...

Another great lesson, they are just a massive help to me. The best Guitar site by far for improving all aspects of my playing. Thanks Bernth.

Thanks Bernth, this is an awesome and very practical lesson. Definitely one of the best I've seen for better-sounding improvisation!

Thank you! Nice video Berth. Large intervals is something I am working on right now. This is an awesome tip. I think Eric Johnson is the master at this .
