10 Levels Of Tapping | Easy To HARD!

It's time for another technique challenge before we get to the next in-depth lesson tomorrow, this time we dissect the different stages of tapping! :) Once again, my goal was to show my journey concerning this technique and the different creative steps. I uploaded the tabs and guitar pro files for you in case you want to learn some of the licks in this video!

Do you use tapping for your licks/music? Which level did you like the most?

Maybe you wille make daily tapping practice routine ? :)

That's a great question! I try my best here not to generate any unwanted string noise, sometimes muting with your left hand helps you with that (automatically positioning your fingers so that they block the upper/lower strings a bit) - that's something I don't think about too much and it developed over time. For some of the more complex examples, I'm using a fretwrap/string dampener - that comes in very handy when you are recording tricky tapping sections and the guitar is really loud in the mix! I don't really work with that in a live situation since the guitar doesn't sound that 'dry' and isolated, but when it comes to recording it's a nice tool as long as you don't completely have to rely on it :) Hope that helps a bit!

Bernth do you mute the next strings somehow?

Hahaha, just watching that one part made my hand cramp up. Thats some brutal tapping man lol

Crazy good!

i thought the stretch was impossible unless i tap it :)lol

I agree Erykah, it's always important to think about what makes sense musically :) I really like the sound of the third example, not too difficult or original but it has a nice vibe (tapped notes ascending, left hand descending) and I would use that concept in a song for sure! It might be hard to really make level 9/10 work in a good composition :)

Great attention to detail there Karlo! Yes, that would be quite a stretch up to E here, I uploaded a new version without the typo :)

Wow, very impressive. You are an incredible guitar player.

Wow! That was wicked awesome :) I like to try to use taping at times. Although level 9 and 10 were very impressive, I liked the sound of level 8 the most. Hope all is well :)

i thinks there is a mistake.level 4, first four sixteenth notes. on the pdf and Gpro E-B-C AND YOU PUT THE LAST NOTE AS AN E. FROM WHAT I SEE AND HEAR IT SHOULD BE a D.just wanted to mention it. its nice to see you are not perfect.it gives me strength and courage to continue playing in the hope to be able to do what you do :) . lol

karlo Petigny

thats gonna be a blast. see you in 6 months.lol
