Ranma Poll results september2025

Howdy everybody.   Another attempt to insert some color here into the Patreon page… this should be green.  Oh, it isn’t.  Quel Surprise. Honestly, how hard would it be to let us use other kingds of fonts and colors? With all the other changes Patreon made I would have thought giving us artists some more ability to, well, ART, would be a good move. But no.

Anyway. Climbing Together is finished.  Larger than I expected (… no one say anything.  Please. Just… Please) but it’s off to Hiryo for his touch.  I didn’t Grammarly it as that would’ve taken another day, but I think it should still be a good chapter.  So it’s now time to both post the Ranma poll results for this month, which will be below, and post October’s Patron Only poll.   That should be up shortly after this.

In other news, I have decided that unless I can finish work on it in the first week of October, I will not prioritize work on FILFy.  I have tried to go back and just find time to read through some of the past Harry-centric battles in that fic, to get me back into his mindset, but that has been slow going. Even using fanfic’s app and the reader hasn’t worked. I’ve been able to figure out how I want Nefertiti to fight, but I’m also having trouble figuring out how Akhenaten would fight.  Worse, the dialogue is… off? Everything but Harry and Yasaka’s interactions (oh, and Luna being Luna) feels clunky.  Grayfia and her brother’s interactions, sure. There, clunky and a mix of formal, hurt, angst and anger works.  But elsewhere, no. UGH.  So rather than put out an inferior product (a phrase Arkos Sloth used LOL) I will work on FILFy in what amounts to my free fic time.  I will try to get it out by the end of October, but we will see, as I will also want to get it out to an editor first.

Now, for the real reason behind this post. 

 The winner of the Ranma Only poll is… Effect!? – WOW. 

Effect of a Horse and A Dragon won, barely, with my votes of 400 helping push it over the edge, giving it a total of 2,521.

Despite Stallion of the Line getting the ¼ carry over effect of 294, Stallion only brought in 2,508. 

REALLY close.  I… also have to admit that I should have posted the Ranma poll over on fanfic.  I didn’t. Odd that no one pointed it out, but still, forgetting to put up any poll over there, be it Ranma or HP, that’s on me. It's almost certain that would have swung things in Stallion's favor, and for that, I deeply apologize to it's fans.

Of course, this also means that Stallion will be getting the carry over effect in October of a full 1/2 for 1,254… OOF.  Even if Journey Gone Astray (still a temp name until… well after the next two chapters, really) draws in a lot of interest among you, I don’t see it winning… which means I will be prioritizing the Ranma poll first in October rather than the Patron Only Poll.  That way I can finish the chapter and maybe, if Tomon’s feeling up to it, he will have a lot of time to go over the chapter along with Hiryo. 

Of course I could be wrong.  Watch me be wrong, like I was here.  I honestly didn’t think Effect had any chance of winning even with my votes.  Funny. So instead of posting the Patron Only poll now, I will post the Ranma poll right after posting this.  The Patron Only Poll will be up on Sunday instead, and the winner there will be the second (third really, considering FILFy) priority in October.  I will need to work out some RL stuff to decide when to end that poll.
