Is Harry going to be subjected to Eowyn’s famous stew like Aragorn was in the Extended Edition?

2022-07-02 20:40:52 +0000 UTCI intend for her to have a bit of a crush on Harry, but also a girl-crush on Tauriel, LOL. As for why I took Eowyn off.... well, remember, in the REAL CANON (as distinct from movie canon) there are very few female characters, and of those, even fewer are actually important. Arwyn, Galadriel, Eowyn, that's it for female characters active at this point in time. Oh, and Shelob LOL. So initially I almost had to go for Eowyn, or change large segments of canon - replacing Aragorn somehow, getting rid of Celeborn and so forth. That wasn't going to happen, hence Eowyn. Then I watched the hobbit movies, someone pointed out the length of time between the hobbit and Fellowship, and then I had Harry and Tuariel meet, and really enjoyed their interaction. That's about it.

2022-06-27 19:41:22 +0000 UTCI noticed a while back, but didn't comment at the time, that you took eowyn off the pairing for the story. I just assumed it was because you didn't want harry to live the next 70 to 80 years and suddenly fall in love with a 20 year old, which is something I worried about. Any relationship between a human and an elf kind of also has that issue, but with elves aging differently we can kind of overlook that. I don't think I'm alone in saying that eowyn is my favorite female character in lord of the rings (not a lot of choices, I know), and I think she deserves more happiness in her life. Maybe you could have harry and tauriel become parental/authority figures for her, eomer, and theodred. Anyway I look forward to the next chapter.
