Yes, but look at how long it could take them - Ood Bnar is the only example of a Neti healing from near death as far as I know and it took him so long he nearly lost his ability to change back.

I've noticed the occasional lapse of important points like that in this story and others in the past, and put them down to juggling so many stories. This one I decided to speak up on since he had been absent and it seemed it would have been a crucial reason he was along for the ride in the first place.

So long as they aren't killed outright, they'll eventually heal from essentially anything. Even something like a missing limb.
