Helicophallus? (Yes I know this mixes Latin and Greek.)

Elsie Hupp

listening to this again and i find it interesting that no matter how advanced your weapons are, when you reach the position youre assaulting your final test will always be the infallible weapon of "rock or something" and those turns out never jam or need reloading

Another great episode about naked marines in a mud pit

Zachary Kaufman

What an episode, The fellas from the Worst of All Possible Worlds are awesome. The banter seemed to flow naturally with the episode and not as forced or go off-piste. Upon hearing the dicks out part, I immediately said dicks out for harambe, which was an army rugby saying at one point of getting it out and cracking on.

Gingerdave

As a Marine, I gotta say...dicks out inexplicably naked from the waste down in a place we cant pronounce for reasons we cant explain is like....a HUGE part of our brand image.

Jonathan Sutter

The mention of the turtle ships made think about how much I'd want to hear an episode on that Korea-Japan war, and whether Admiral Yi really was as badass as they say (a K/D ratio of something like 300-0 in naval engagements).

The Narrator

Does anybody know what I could look up to find something similar to the war song mentioned around the hour mark? Sounded interesting

Ozzy

I came for the history I stayed for the gumpse

Tyrone Slothrust

Joe your show provides that unique balance of knowledge, humor and psychological trauma. For that I thank you.

Grumpy Bowlart

I love a hood spit laugh.

Alistair SM J

Joe, for future reference (I'm surprised it hasn't come up already??) "Just say it again but louder" is one of the most Ignorant British Gammon traits ever! My grandfather (Who would only eat chips when the family ordered Chinese) and my father (an arsehole) both share this in common! It's a quick way to spot a Brit abroad - are they repeating themselves louder and louder and getting more and more frustrated when it doesn't work, but persist nonetheless? That's a Brit.

Alex Duggan

Can’t believe Joe forgot to bring Nate over

Mackenzie Toscan

These guys were great guests, definitely going to give TWOAPW a listen.

Derek Woods

The Trapdoor Springfield rifle was not ideal. It was a clunkey breech loading conversion of Springfield rifle muskets.

Taco

The Spencer rifle/carbine does also require you to cock the hammer back after cycling the lever. It’s fast for the age, but it’s not like Winchester in a western movie fast.

Rileygood

Always happy to see the WOAPW boys on

Peter Larkin

Korean Government giving the biggest Nuh Uh to a prisoner exchange in history made me laugh so damn hard.

William Shackelford

Something extremely valuable & hard to explain or measure that Joe does with these irreverent chuckles paired with oftentimes grim history is this: it teaches folk to see people in the past as people, to think of history not as the mythologized individuals but as the masses, the many who make up the rank & file; & reminds one that there is laughter even in the worst of times. They really like bolster one's goodwill towards humanity

Ol' Balls on Top...

I worked in Health IT for over 25 years and did a lot of work with Emergency Departments. I can assure you that there are multiple EDs that have dealt with firearms of various sorts shoved up buttholes. It's usually straight couples. Gay couples have more intelligence and know how to insert stuff safely.

LeobaL

Where is the Belfast episode?

Mildly invested

Pretty sure I have had that fort raid at the end recreated once in hunt showdown esp since the Spenser was added to the game not that long ago

Mildly invested

in the end of the episode you mentioned like how the show started and there was one person who showed up for a signing....uh if it was the one in that downtown seattle powellsi think that mightve been me lol? idk been following this pod for a while and its kept me company thru a lotta my life and this history we're all living thru. idk hate to be parasocial but like thanks for making this show! its a good one and i hope you keep creating for a long time :3

Lain of the Wired
