Ep87: Cheeky Little Devil

Patrons! Thanks for your patience while I went away to dodge Israelis in France (listen to the episode to learn more).
Couple things to address: Yes, we say this is episode 86 at the beginning of the episode, when it is in fact episode 87. That was my oversight and the reason it happened is to boring to explain. Message me if you're having trouble sleeping and I'll gladly explain. Secondly I am away at Glasto next week but I mean it when I say we will do everything we can to record an episode earlier in the week so that there isn't another gap in our scheduled programming. Got an exciting guest lined up and all so fingers crossed it all goes well!

OK that's enough rambling from me, I think. Fun rambling episode here, including some nice shoutouts to new Patrons via an improv game I force Alexei to do. Should I keep doing it??

The post previous to this is where you'll find that discount code for our live shows. Message me if you're struggling to find it. I'll drop it in the chat too anyway...

Enjoy!

"We're back! Alexei and Talal have a proper yam-fest covering vast ground: Iran, Corbyn, money laundering, New York's mayoral race, new celebrity followers and Talal actually gets closer to getting Alexei to do some improv!"

Catching up on these and can't believe how much has happened since this chat - Israels and US war on Iran ended (for now!), new party, proscription of PA etc etc. But we are all still marching and organising to stop this evil genocide and ever more depraved acts. So agree with Talal about Glastonburys shitty record. So was amazing to see what actually happened this year!!! Emily Eavis is dreadful though and doesn't deserve to inherit the empire. Her antisemitism statement was a sign she has learnt nothing since banning the Big Lie. Also very much agree with Alexei that we don't need any of that old left committee meeting bollocks in this new party.

On the Liberty court case it was a major victory but it did not overturn all protest laws. It was the ability of the Home Secretary (done by Braverman but initially supported by Cooper) to define when a protest would be disruptive rather than Parliament itself. So the definition has returned to one of major disruption. Labour refused to carry on appeal so Court ruling stands.

Mention to Alexei that Waitrose is on the list !!! Waitrose sells Israeli-imported fresh produce, herbs, dates, and products from companies like Carmel Agrexco, Arava, Mtex, and the settlement-based Ahava Company.

However, the Irish Times says: “Ó hAnnaidh’s lawyer, Brenda Campbell, said the defence would argue the charge was brought after the six-month limit to bring such a charge. “If we are right in relation to that, then this court has no jurisdiction and there ends the case,” she added. A further hearing will be held on August 20th to determine whether the charge was brought too late, Judge Paul Goldspring said.”

I heard that was the reason as well. He was exercising his right to speak Irish. They couldn’t get an Irish interpreter. Adjourned the case for that reason.

The rumour I heard about the Kneecap case was that the court didn't have an Irish speaker because Mo can't speak English. So it was adjourned until August.
