2023-08-28 09:57:28 +0000 UTC492 is part 2 of a special crossover between the anime Toriko and One Piece (part 1 is a Toriko episode) whether or not the episode is available depends on if you have Toriko in your region AFAIK. You will likely not have 590 either since that one is also a special crossover involving Toriko.

2023-08-28 09:54:54 +0000 UTCI always see a lot of people that say they would have wanted this flashback before Ace's death for it to be more impactful, but I always loved the way this was handled and placed. It's such an interesting and imho effective way to depict Luffy's state of mind and grief, because it would totally be now that he remembers all this and wouldn't want to let go of all the time and memories he had with Ace and this is what absolutely makes it more painful that he is gone now. Watching all these moment, knowing what has just happened with Ace just gives it such a bittersweet (sometimes more bitter, sometimes more sweet) and slightly painful undertone the whole time and at least for me is kind of very impactful in resembeling the aftermath of a loved one dying and all those thoughts about them that are flooding your mind. In most shows/series the death itself is usually the most painful and shocking moment and maybe you get a sad wrap up funeral scence but then things move on from there, so to me the fact that One Piece gave a big focus and quite a bit of time to Ace just AFTER his death is what really got to me, because it made me feel with Luffy not just in the shocking moment of the death itself but also allowed to sit with the pain of Ace actually not being there anymore by given us the memory of how important he was when he was there. Sorry for rambeling a bit, but this flashback since I read it for the first time always stuck with me so much for those reasons and as I always see people argue about the placement so much, I just need to get out sometimes why to me it works exceptionally well this way.
