This is the best explained take in the comment section, imo.

As everyone is saying, Bruno died in the church. The boss killed him. Giorno healed his body and infused it with so much life energy, it temporarily allowed his soul to cling to his dead body. Thats why he can't eat, doesn't really bleed (as you have seen, he has bled less and less), doesn't feel pain, and perhaps a few other things to come in the future. Unfortunately, it seems his time is running out.
The Notorious BIG was more so just supposed to be a comparison as both are not technically living but still almost have souls of their own? They can move and stuff, but aren't technically alive. Here's a real question tho, would Green Day affect a vampire? I feel like jojos vampires are technically alive enough, but who knows.
Get ready for an iconic scene, well actually a few, but specifically one of the biggest ones next episode :) Its really all hype from here.
But yep you've finally figured out what just happened to Bruno, now the question is the why, which will eventually get revealed as someone already said.
