DLC Discussion
Added 2020-06-08 20:28:59 +0000 UTCRemember when games were shipped to store complete without the need for DLC? What is your opinion on DLC? Is it good or bad? Personally I think it can be good and bad. It can allow you to extend your time with a product you really like and add some great additions. Or it can be overpriced and put in things the game should have already had to begin with, or be underwhelming. I am guilty of purchasing some DLC for various games, but often it is to support the developer. Thoughts?
And Twi is going to get addicted to this game...

I'd say that DLC is a good thing as long as they're not trying to pass off necessary features as DLC. DLC means you can pay for the extra development that was required to make HD chest floof look right only if you care about it. DLC means that when a game is popular the developers can continue to extend it with new content, which will almost always be cheaper than developing a sequel with the same content. DLC means you can spend an unreasonable amount of money on Rock Band over the course of a decade to get a library of 1418 songs (and counting). And of course, we should remember that the only reason DLC wasn't a part of video games from the beginning is that in the beginning there was no way for customers to DL the C.
