Athens

The first day I arrived, I came down with a nasty virus that knocked me out so bad, I slept for an entire day -- yes, 24 straight hours. I think I was rundown from weeks of sleeping only a few hours (due to jet lag) and it finally caught up to me.
The city was unfortunately in shambles at the time. I saw a lot of public drug use, prostitutes, Middle Eastern refugees and starving stray dogs. There was utter lawlessness in the streets. People got on and off the metro without paying, and no one seemed to care. There were officers carrying massive weaponry, but they were clearly on the lookout for serious crime.
Of course, the history, the coffee and the food were still flawless. Being Greek, I was happy to see the origins of some of my ancestry.
While there, I had the opportunity to shoot with a fashion photographer who prefers to remain anonymous. We listened to vinyl and created some stunning images. I hope you enjoy them.
