To Float
The moment you've recognized
The absurdity of existence,
All at once,
It becomes nothing
To do something
Extraordinarily profound
And I'm not in the least troubled
by the truth
With the delicate femineity
Of an hour in the wind,
And a flower on the skin,
Prone, with sincerity
I could float against
The stone and severity
The moan of austerity
I could float against
The harsh sun and sharp breath
Of desolation
A first page revelation
Thirst, rage and regret
Scarred
Harbored by my own inlet
I could float against
Challenging elements
With the swing of a spear
On the wing of a tear
I could float against
The the thing of my fear
The ring of my ear
I could float against
The prickly alkaline
The sticky pinion pine
In the shallow shadow
Of my own internal coastline
I could float against
Denial and deprivation
The smile of annihilation
Like the flower on the skin
That knows
I can float against
The threat of the storm
For the rain is redeemed
In me.
