I've had my hands full with some personal/family matters. My mother and sisters have needed a lot of support and attention from me lately, so I apologize for not giving more thorough updates here.

As some of you know, I have also been occupied with my grandfather. It has been one episode after another. Additionally, his insurance company is denying him long term care, despite that he urgently needs to be monitored 24 hours, with daily labs, as well as assistance with food, medicine and bathing. We have been jumping through all of the bureaucratic hoops to file an expedited appeal, but in the mean time, he will have to stay with me. However, in his current condition, he may wind up being hospitalized before they discharge him.

On a positive note, I have truly cherished all of the time I have had to spend with my grandfather. It is fulfilling for the both of us.

A couple of my long time friends have made the time to visit with me this summer as well, which has really enriched my otherwise stressful experience of being home.

And, even better, my sisters are coming to stay with me for a little while. I haven't seen them since the winter, so I am very much looking forward to their visit. Their being so far away from 'home' (Jersey) these last two years has definitely been an adjustment for me.
