So we pick up things realy quick in stories like this because Koreans are so used to this narrative. Basically, trust no one in power lol. It's never the good and just heroes that come to power. It's always the one most corrupt. In that light, Madam is the odd one out. Even if she's the portrait of corruption and power, she's not following the "common sense" of that world where love and affection could never and should never cloud your judgment. Which is what makes her character so interesting and complex. She's not following the corrupt people formula here.
