Collecting Flash (Early Access for Crushing Comics Club members)

To mark the release of the new Justice League trailer, here's the third of the major Justice League heroes to appear on Crushing Comics - Collecting Flash

This guide is tentatively scheduled for general public release on May 15 to coincide with the season finale of Flash, but that could move up if I don't get back on pace with completing a guide every week!

In a way, Flash is the first truly "baseline" guide I've really completed for DC since tackling Wonder Woman as my first. Ge's a character who has always had a single solo title, who is a member of teams and who has a sidekick, and who went through a distinct transformation in each era of DC's history.

As a result, I kept a meticulous diary of my development of the guide to help me estimate the scope of future DC work.  This guide took about 90 minutes longer than I hoped it would - which isn't terrible! I came out with this interesting break-down of how my time was spent:

• Outlining = 17%
• Researching = 42%
• Amazon links = 27%
• Images / final clean-up = 14%

Could I really have made up those 90 minutes? I don't think so - I was super-efficient for nearly every minute of work on this guide! 

However, I do think there are further efficiencies to be found in the future. I have to be in a certain research mode for outlining, and it might pay to outline a group of guides all at once to take advantage of that. Also, I bet I could get a little faster at clean-up by taking care of more of those elements (setting up the TOC, correcting header formatting) as part of the outlining phase.

I still have some details to add to this guide - like the dreaded process of adding Annuals (seriously, such a pain), adding more issue ranges of his participation in Justice League, and linking in more DC events based on when they've intersected with Flash (I caught about half).

Next up? I'd really like to get one more guide out before the month ends - either Batman's other ongoings, or DC's Alternate Realities,  as well as launch some form of your March Patrons' Choice of Alpha Flight (even if it gains further info/detail later on).
