A Hard Drive Story

So about a year ago, I think, I was running out of Hard Drive room on my computer. I had a large 4 TB HDD that stored all of my comics and it was getting very full. So I went out and purchased a new 4 TB HDD and added it to my system.

However, to my surprise, the HDD ended up something like 90% full when I copied the Archive of my comics from the old drive to the new one. Understand that there are other things on the Old drive, so I did not think that the Archives took up so much of the room.

But clearly they did...

So now I had 2 x 4 TB HDDs and they were both nearly full. I deleted some of other Archived comics from the Old HDD, because they were now on the new one, but I didn't want to delete all of them just to be on the safe side.

Fast forward to the start of 2025 and the Old drive, which is still my main working drive, is getting full again. And the Archive drive is basically already at capacity. :/

Therefore, I picked up a new 8 TB HDD when my parents recently purchased a new computer. now that their computer is all setup and running, and their data is all copied over, I have focused on getting my new HDD installed.

I did that last night, and copied the entire Archive drive to the new 8 TB HDD while I slept. It took over 9 hours.

And that, my patrons, is why the pinups are still not posted and I am working on them right now. :)

But I do now have a massive new drive to host the Comics Archive. Yay! :D

Hopefully that will last more than a year. :P
