Added 2022-03-24 15:09:12 +0000 UTCSometimes lighting is pretty easy. Not that it's easy, but you try something and it just works. And sometimes lighting is a royal pain in the ass. Lol!
Sometimes you try something and just nothing you do seems to work right. At least, it doesn't give you the effect that you wanted. I think lighting this yoga studio eventually ended up looking OK, but it was really hard to get the bright sunlight from the HDRI to balance properly with the lamps in the ceiling. I still feel that the sunlight is a little too bright and the lamps a little too dim.
However, if you crank the lamps up much more then they start to put bright white spots on the walls. That's a clear indication that they are too bright, and are starting to "blow out" the textures.
And the problem with the HDRI is that the background goes really dark if I turn its intensity down enough for the sunlight not to overpower the lamps. :P
I just couldn't win with this one, so I stopped when it was "good enough". :)
