Due to the following reasons, I'm gonna make some changes to the tiers' content. Specifically to NEIGHBOR content.
I've been receiving a lot [A LOT] of messages from people who get tier #14 [$40] that "didn't know Patreon is a monthly fee site". And they "don't consider it 'fair' to pay $40 a month for a 5 pages update [ Neighbor is not the only ongoing title being updated]" and ask for a refund [having already read all the content]...
...Tier #14 has more than 1,204 pages in content; yeah, I know you can read it all in one sit, but I didn't create all of that content in one sit...
BUT, I must consider people's budgets. To that, I agree; it's more than fair and right. And am working on it.
There's also the issue of my work being stolen and posted on different internet sites for free...there's one in particular who put a screenshot of my Patreon's about-text; which leads me to believe it is a former patron...
All those things are highly discouraging, saddening, and honestly, depressing.
It makes me feel people just don't give a rat's ass about my effort. As if those pages were magically done and therefore held the right to give them away... I'm not a machine, not a company...
I'm not D*sney... I'm a person. I pay bills, feed my family and my cats [and strays] out of this work...So, PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE SHARING MY WORK.
You can share it with a friend but that friend might have friends and I wanna believe that's how my hard work ends up out there being given away...
Anyways, I just want you to know, dear patrons who are here, supporting my work, as difficult as it is in this economy, that I appreciate you. I'm trying to come up with better tiers, a better way to make my work available here.
I will make changes to make the content more affordable. The changes will be announced at least 3 days before the end of the month and will be active on November 1st.
IMPORTANT INFO:
- This [my] Patreon page is under the "Pay upfront" option. So, to avoid being charged twice, subscribe on the 1st of the month.
- Patreon only charges the difference when you change from a lower to a higher tier. [ for example: from tier $4 to $8 it will only charge you $4,] -- And does not charge you to downgrade from the tier.
I thought Patreon provided this info when you subscribe, but apparently, they don't.
I think that's it. My apologies for sounding all whiny and actually I'm sure I've already addressed this issue before, but it just keeps happening.
