At this point we all know Naruto doesn’t have the best pacing lmao. If someone is still watching in their free time, and not enjoying it, it’s kind of on them. After so much you know that you’re gonna have to slog through some episodes and pacing lol. As far as if this portion is THAT bad, I think it’s just some iconic and hype moments that come up are soooo close yet so far. People just really wanna see yall react to them. On my first watch I wasn’t like mesmerized by any means by these fights 😅 but I did enjoy them. But I was able to like binge for a few days and then take like weeks in between if I wanted. So that’s a factor as well! But I find the Naruto world so interesting and I think all the different powers are cool, so when I got a new fight I was excited too see it!

I read the manga during this time and the manga did a great job at making the war seem peak but then when it came to the anime it was tough sometimes to keep up. But like others said bit torrent was the way back then.

Besides watching anime on TV or waiting for licensed DVDs, there were fansub and fandub groups who translated newly released episodes and distributed them through torrents and pirated DVDs. Naruto got KCM (Kyubi Chakra Mode) and we had to wait a whole year to see him use it again. I'm not saying it's bad but it's the weakest section of the war arc and a dredge on a rewatch.

If you missed episodes, you had to hope they would rerun the episode you missed at a time you weren't busy or record it if your cable box had the function or using a VCR. Manga and anime didn't become mainstream until the early 2010s in the states. Finding physical manga was a bit less common than today and there was a time when you would search up anime on YouTube and find episodes cut in 4 parts at 240p or 360p lol.

In the Danzo flashback, Tobirama said they were being trailed by the Kinkaku Force, which consisted of like a dozen ninja. They are still scary on their own with the treasures and Kyubi cloak (Kyubi is the Japanese word for nine tails).

Feel like as this was airing live people just wanted the pain arc again and were kind of impatient, esp weekly.
