This episode gives me all the feels. Those that are bullied and treated as “less than”, if and when they retaliate, will cite “xyz behavior drove me to it”. That explains it, but it doesn’t excuse it. Shoji proves that one can endure the same circumstances and still choose to be better. To be strong and rise above it.

People like Shoji again show us that Deku may be the MC but there are others out there who have bigger origin stories than him. I fill Spinner losing his intelligence was by design and not a flaw, it makes me fill that’s truly how OFA see those with mutant types as Deep down. Koda has always been a favorite of mine and I always thought he was a Doolittle, (can talk to animals) turns out he’s actually Anipath (can fill and share feelings of animals) it’s so him. See the brief conversation with his mom, sorta explains why in the beginning he did talk and tried to not stand out, just in case things didn’t end up like his parents amount his classmates. That’s how I see it at least. This can go one of two ways, koroguri wakes up and we have another mini boss to deal with, Or Mic manages somehow to bring back Shirokuma and we have another Allie. Shutting up now.

2025-08-01 09:57:58 +0000 UTCThis episode was so well made and i love how approaches the topics with the heteromorphs and how is it the parallel with our society with the racism or the hate and discrimination that the people suffer of just being diferent. Was a such beautiful moments of Shoji and Koda, and i love the backstory and lines of Shoji when the people of the village was hitting him, in his mind he just hope to be normal or not having his tentacles, but he was grateful of being diferent and his (quirk) and being heteromorph when he saves the girl and she thanks him crying, he was so happy and he use just that single memory of his body, that he could be a villain because of his past but his resilience made him try to be a hero. And i love all the lines he says like "Dont let them take advantage of your scars" Dang hits so hard. Even it was a episode of "secondary characters" i was so moved and emotional the first time ive seen this episode. I CANT WAIT FOR MORE EPISODES NEXT WEEK ARE GOING TO BE SO FKING PEAK AND CRAZY EPISODES!!!!!!!!!!! MY PEAK ACADEMIA!!!!!!!!!!

Remember in the 4th movie when they are all under the influence of a quirk that makes them dream of a perfect life and Shoji's is a simple stroll in the countryside with a little girl?

2025-07-30 23:50:38 +0000 UTCI adore Shoji so much. Even though Spinner is part of the league, it breaks my heart every time I watch this episode and see him like this. He genuinely isn't a bad guy. He wanted change and didn't know how to get it and followed Shigaraki. I love their friendship too. Everyone else treated Shigaraki like the leader but Spinner was his friend.

2025-07-30 16:13:58 +0000 UTCI think a lot of that has to do with how the anime was adapted too tbh. Spinner gets more of a focus throughout the manga and many of those scenes were cut in the anime. In general the story could have focused a bit more on the prejudice of heteromorphs in this world though. Ultimately loved the episode either way.

2025-07-30 16:11:40 +0000 UTCanother sad thing about Shoji's backstory is when you watch him by the river, I kind of interpreted it as him about to give up in life too so seeing the little girl also stopped him in time for anything he might have done.. glad yall liked this ep! ofc its not perfect since imo topics like these are kinda hard to execute especially with the very little it had to develop but I still enjoyed it for what it was and just shoji and koda are such sweethearts but they still got such hype moments this time super fun! next week eps 👀i know i speak for all that its gonna be great (obvs lol) fast forward pls~~~

Something I remembered from season 2 and realized just now about Koda: in the students vs. the teachers arc, when Kota and Jiro were fighting Mic in the forest, he got over his fear of bugs because he saw his friend was bleeding. So he got mad "properly", got over himself, and won the match. This might be a coincidence, but I trust the author enough to believe it's exactly how he planned it.

2025-07-30 15:53:37 +0000 UTCThis episode is so good, but I often see a critique that the heteromorphs issues were pushed too far into the background for too long. This makes the timing of this episode pulling away from the Main Event really hard for some people to take, but I personally always thought it was kinda fitting. Spinner was the first heteromorph to actually voice that discrimination and no one ever listens to Spinner. It makes sense no one wants to listen to him even now. lol
