What the anime failed to animate, which iI think is essential to Shiggys back story, is in the manga he got lost while playing with his friends and a mysterious figure help him get home. And the man is shown waving goodbye at the door, wearing a suit and a hat covering half his face. Which could imply that the same day shiggy killed his family could be the same day "someone" gave him a quirk.

Just want to give him a big hug and tell him everything is going to be ok. Imagine if his family supported him. little cutie. btw in the edited version you kind of glaced over his grandma. was this a mentioned topic in the full version?
