I fell in love with Belle's tea dress from Walter Crane's 1874 illustration of Beauty and the Beast:
At first glance, I mistook it for a 1870s tea gown, but it clearly mixes a multitude of eras together. I admit this is a little bit more fantastical than what I'd usually make! It's making me consider creating more fantasy/fairytale-inspired pieces.
Along with the dress, I also made the shoes and decided to add monochrome, two-tone, and patterned options because I was lacking in historical fancy shoes.
I was planning on making the whole outfit (some WIPs in preview), but they didn't feel versatile enough to post, and it would mean delaying this post many more weeks. If anyone is interested, maybe I'll finish it.
