2025-03-02 23:57:57 +0000 UTCThe judge changing the judgement was him accepting Tom's condition to forgive the attack and instead return to the original point of him being charged with helping the pirate king, and was sent to the judicial island to be judged on that crime, the judgement for which would most likely be the death sentence, but maybe their opinions changed in the past 14 years. Originally when he was about to be sentenced to death the pirate king was only recently executed, so maybe there isn't as much pressure to execute him.

Usopp's unconditional love for the Merry, for a ship, is what Franky has lost after Tom's end, and what Tom was trying to teach him as his last lesson. It would be interesting to see whether Franky can find the love for building once again, after spending years destroying. One Piece is the only Anime where I don't mind spending 3+ eps without the main characters. For any other show, I hate these types of episodes, but in One Piece they're some of the best. I don't know if someone mentioned it already, but Chopper's voice is about to change as his VA went on maternity leave (yes, Pikachu became a mom ❤️). The temporary new voice lasts for like 10 maybe 15 eps.

2025-02-28 19:23:01 +0000 UTCas someone who choses dialogue before fighting, I need spandam to suffer the worst torture ever seen in history, i don't want him to die, i want him to live a long life and suffer every second of it🙏 lmao. on a more serious note, oda is so good at writing characters, the way he makes franky look like a villain in the beginning but at the same time leaves qualities that make you think you can grow fond of him in the future... is just as good as how he made spandam an absolute asshole and irredeemable character from the get-go. you guys caught some good details, like the reason yokozuna fights the train every day is because he copies franky trying to get back tom💔, and how franky no longer builds ships but, demolishes them, devastating if u ask me, but very beautiful writing. i'm so excited for the rest of this arc, thanks for the reaction♡

2025-02-28 17:45:01 +0000 UTCOda has faults as a writer. He puts too many fake out deaths in the story and goes to some extremes with the perviness. However, he is excellent at writing themes. Franky’s backstory is one such example, one that I relate to a lot. No person (ship) is inherently good or bad and even if you make mistakes and harm the people you love, you still need to at least love yourself. Another interpretation is that the parent will still love the child who did wrong. I have had a hard time accepting that I am worth something and that not everything I do is somehow hurting others. It is hard to accept even when my family has told me they love me, like Tom in this situation loving Franky, the “ship he created.”
