Easily a contender for top fight in the series, in a series full of amazing and creative fight choreography. I love how they show how incredible Tenzin is despite him ultimately losing in the end. Honestly, the fact that Kya and Bumi were able to keep up at all was pretty great too!

It was just the damn explosion lady that he couldn't deal with. He's an absolute legend. My first time watching this I cried like a baby at the end.

2024-12-29 08:22:12 +0000 UTCthe red lotus came about as a response to how aang ended up making use of his relationship with the white lotus, and it’s also never indicated that they revealed themselves until their first attempt to capture korra as a child. by that point, iroh would have already passed on to the spirit realm. he simply wouldn’t know anything about the red lotus.

2024-12-29 04:31:27 +0000 UTCWe really only have the radio to say that Ba Sing Se is in “chaos.” Realistically, people broke into the upper ring and are looting the palace and engaging in retributive violence against the palace administration. The middle and lower rings are likely just going about life as normal (except for random fires I guess?) but nobody is being kidnapped by the Dai Li. People should closely examine their reactions to events like that. And, if necessary, ask themselves why they feel like violence perpetrated by the people against elites is somehow worse than the direct or structural violence (called social murder by Engels), that elite administration perpetrates on a daily basis against those in their power. In Ba Sing Se, the Dai Li kidnapped and tortured people by the hundreds, even brainwashing them. This occurred for literal generations. Under the Earth Queen’s reign, provincial holdings were largely left to fend for themselves except for when tax collectors came to visit and violently suppressed civil disobedience. The lower ring was kept under-developed and poor, environmental factors that doubtlessly led to worse public health outcomes and many deaths. The wealth of the nation was funneled ever upwards while no civic improvements were made and quality of life dropped. The Earth Queen deserved it and since Korra didn’t have the political acumen to solve the problems through reformism, Zaheer stepped up and did it through radicalism. That’s what always happens when material conditions become untenable and there exists no political mechanism for populist redress. 2024-12-28 17:36:30 +0000 UTCkorra asked iroh for advice and zuko, instead of rushing in, shes considering giving herself up for the air nation which is pretty selfless, korra and asami are bonding more (for example when they went to retrieve the queen's taxes, when asami was in airship with korra, now asami watching over korra's body etc)

Old Korra would have not asked for help and went in alone thinking she was big and strong like she tried to do with amon in season one she's asking for help and she's looking for guidance from her elders something she never liked to do because she always though her way was the correct way like she did in season 2 nit listeing to Tenzin and her dad when they told her to stay and train in air bending. She's also is less aggressive she usually would disagree with someone and just yell at them and not here there point of the story but we see multiple times through this season she dissagress with people but she also takes time listen to them now.
