She's performing her own mental justifications for her mind's sake. She now knows she has to kill a lot of people, including ones she loved. Having had her father's real final thoughts confirmed to her and being reminded of the Song, she NEEDS that "divine" justification to push her forward. Like she says to Jayce, she HAS to believe it's for the greater good on the whole, and not only personal greed. She also wants to not to act like Daemon has been to her, seemingly hungry only for the power.

I know I sound like a broken recond, but the whole "I don't even want the crown UwU, I just want it because of the prophecy teehee" is NOT Rhaenyra, idk who that person is lol. remember how disgusted she was when Criston suggested she give up her crown? in trying to make her a "good guy" in this whole conflict, they're making her a worse character, and actually making her look weak and indecisive.
