And like I said, I liked the first 2 seasons. They might like the rest, as most of the world apparently does. They also watch shows I don't like much, like Haikyuu, YLIA, etc. Personal preferences. JJBA is good enough and a must watch. Just whether or not they continue with all of it is up to them.

Most characters in MHA are kids. It is quite enjoyable though and I think they'll like it. But I'll have to agree, that character's redemption has got to be the most forced and worst redemption arc I've seen in anime and manga. It's very rare for me to feel this about a fictional character, but whenever I remember that character, a rage boils inside of me. That character also has the most punchable face and personality in anime.

Like in the reaction, Carlie asked if Gon is gonna climb the world tree without nen. Unless she was spoiled, maybe some ppl who only watched the anime kinda got the feeling too that Gon was only restored physically. Since Pitou did say that Gon was prepared to never use nen again, and I think that stuck in Carlie's mind. With that said, early on in the Heaven's Arena arc, Wing briefly mentioned that it's rare, but people can change their nen type. So the prevailing theory is that Gon will be able to use nen again someday and his nen type would change from enhancer to something else.

That's kinda cool but not having Gon involved at all is just wild. Also SPOILERS. So, I think it's fine that he isn't "completely redeemed" because that wasn't the writer's intention. What we got at the end was great closure for Gon and us. I'm thinking about finally reading the manga after watching this series for the 2nd time with you guys. I REALLY want to see Kurapika take on the MC role for a bit.

2024-06-30 06:51:01 +0000 UTCMha was an amazing show the first 2 seasons, it fell of personally to me after season 3. Season 4 and 5 were extremely boring except for few highlights. I had to drop the show after season 5 cuz I was so uninterested at that point. But i know after a lot of criticisms for season 3-5, the studio does a good job with season 6.

Definitely realize now I was missing out on a masterpiece for all this time. ---- MHA is a pretty good choice for a replacement. I think if you're looking for something in the future that's similar to HxH with the Nen and what-not, you'd HAVE to watch "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure." Throughout my time watching HxH, I noticed that the Nen powers were basically powers used in JJBA... but IMO written and used MUCH better than in JJBA. JJBA is also an international cultural icon and favourite of many for many reasons. I personally don't like it beyond the first 2 seasons (opposite to mainstream opinion), but IMO missing out on JJBA is like missing out on Dragon Ball. It inspired so many after it. It in turn was also inspired by Fist of the North Star, initially.

This episode personally impacted me way more than the Meruem and Komugi episode. I'm surprised Carlie didn't need to reach for the tissues during this one. @148 The map of HxH is the map of the real world, but jumbled around. Like Yorknew City is literally where New York would be in the real world. North America is upside down in HxH. When they showed the bigger world in HxH... it's like when in AOT (SPOILERS) we discovered that humanity exists beyond the walls. A complete game changer and mind f.

I can say so far though, if it ever does, that you'll see more Ging, Pariston, Kurapika, Hisoka, Chrollo, and a slew of brand new characters! Sadly, no updates on Gon. And a bunch of new info about the "Outside World".

But it's also the setup for the next big arc (Dark continent). It's kind of weird when you rate it by itself, but it's very relevant for the setup of the next bunch of people that will be involved in the story, and to introduce the politics and stuff that goes into the arc. Which funnily enough is mainly focused on Kurapika (up to this point). It is a huge shame that the story stops right before a huge huge battle (Hisoka vs Chrollo)

My favorite arcs from top to bottom: -York New (Best overall) -Chimera Ants (Best Peaks) -Heavens Arena (Schwing) -Greed Island (Dodge Ball) -Alluka (Something) -Hunter's Exam (made a lot lighter than the original, 1999 version would be higher) It would be interesting to know what your favorite Nen ability is. Is it Tsubone (Turning to a bike/plane XD)? Mine is probably Netero's. ACCOMPANY ON, MY HERO ACADEMIA !

Make sure Leorio becomes a great doctor. Make sure Kurapika gets all his kinsmen’s eyes back. Make Ging and Gon bond and make it to the outside world together.” Wishes are pretty worldbreaking. Heck. they could even bring back Kite, Gotoh, and even Netero. World peace, end all disease, unlimited power sources - what wouldn’t Killua be able to do? It’s like having God in your back pocket.

Gon is a refreshing protagonist though because he DOES feel like a real kid, with specific kid-like flaws. Leorio isn’t as fleshed out but he also feels more human. Killua and Kurapika feel more like the cooler broader-appeal anime characters, but not as grounded. Meruem was one of the best characters (not necessarily feels like a real human) but one of the more complex and fleshed out characters in the show.

2024-06-29 20:30:10 +0000 UTCGing has worn a lot of hats throughout his life: explorer, hunter, student, mentor, Zodiac council member, archeologist, outdoorsman, animal handler, etc etc etc. He just has absolutely no idea how to be a dad, so any time he can interact with Gon outside of that relationship he's a lot more comfortable.

It shows that the other characters are also living, with their own motivations and goals. It makes the world of the anime feel more alive.

2024-06-29 19:51:10 +0000 UTCWhen Netero died, Ange said that he would love to see the characters mourning him, and for weeks now I've been waiting to say that Pariston playing with the whole election was his tribute to Netero, so I was really happy when Carlie said it and used the term tribute too. As Pariston said it, he just wanted to play with Netero again, and the election was the last mission that Netero gave them. So playing with it was his way of doing that. But as Ange said it, there's obviously more to the election arc than that as new characters were introduced. The election is a setup for the next arc, which hopefully we'll get in anime form some years later, maybe when C&A is finished with One Piece (if we're lucky) lol As you said, HxH is really unique. As a shonen, especially. It's more of a mix of shonen and seinen especially when Chimera Ant arc started. That's what really got me into HxH. The current state of the manga is basically straight up thriller seinen, and I think that's why Togashi left shonen jump just like Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man) so they could write with more freedom and put more seinen/adult themes in their work. My favorite character is Killua. He's just legendary. His arc was really well written, and his abilities and personality is really cool. He can be the most wholesome character there is but also flip the switch and become a really badass coldblooded assassin. Also that last quote from the anime/Ging is really something that people, especially these days with toxic hustle culture being prevalent, should keep in mind. It's great of course to focus on your goals, but don't forget to treasure the side quests and the people you meet along the journey.
