HxH Eps 126-127 REACTIONS!

Comments

I could kiss your brain because you GET IT. The people who don't like this arc imo are people who don't like seeing the other side of humanity. We are cruel, we are vicious, we are vindictive. The Ants NEVER had a chance.

patricia jimjimcherie

Or armin was "meruemed" lol

David Salazar

You should know that when todo was fighting mahito and faked him by saying his technique is the acclamation of the soul was a reference of this fight when netero lost his arms! Respect to jjk for referencing such an epic fight in their show

Saqer Alshaikh

did they read that... i dont think so its soo long but i hope they did cus that must have took a long time.

loke_Noke

HEY GUYS, ME AGAIN, Listen up cause this one is IMPORTANT!! As always I only type these because I love you 2 and your reactions ^^^. As always no spoilers, but this is very important and others didn't take the time to explain it. properly. Lets begin: Chapter 1 - "Checkmate, a check from which a king cannot escape." Checkmate is any game position ... in which a player's king is in check and there is no possible escape. Checkmating the opponent wins the game. In chess, the king is never actually captured—the player loses as soon as the player's king is checkmated. Meruem stated "I see now you had me in checkmate from the start". During their fight, Netero was representive of the Human race. Meruem the Ant race. Meruem is speaking of Humanity, not just Netero. As Netero said "I am not alone". He carried Humanity's will, that even when down and out to night give up, to fight viciously until the end. But here's the thing, even his end he chose, because the truth be told, The Ants NEVER EVER HAD A SINGLE DAMN CHANCE IN THE GAME. Chapter 2)- "Humanity's ability for Malice (Violence)" "Even if I gotta murder me to murder you" ~ Twista Netero perfectly represented this as he was greedy, selfish, illogical, and self imposing. He did not given in to "talking it out", he tricked and forced the King into fighting under subpar conditions (You can't kill me, but you have to beat me). And he put his own will before that of the mission (The mission was get rid of the ants, HE purposely came up with a plan that would allow him to 1v1 an opponent stronger than him, he chose his death.) But where it really shines is that he carried a small tool that the Ants never even took time to consider, He carried our Infinite affinity towards Violence and Malice. The Ants came into the world thinking themselves superior and the height of evil. They did "mean" things like breaking the arms of humans and making pets, they did "Evil" things like killing children and brain torture. They were shown to be horrible by turture. All these things made Meruem and the Ants believe they were the Apex Predator in the planet. From the start they never had a chance, they were literally born yesterday and we are Humans. But we are Humans, We literally watch all these things on TV and call it Entertainment (Game of thrones). Torture? Don't get me started, Inflicting Pain on others? HAH. We have devoted entire branches of science to the art of murder, death, and pain. We have experimented on All form of animals just so we can have smoother skin. We have mastered the art of war from centuries of training and perfection. We are the monsters in this story. There isn't one thing that the Ants were displayed doing or thinking, that we haven't done IN SPADES. We wipe out entire species, We will claim other animals, nature, landscapes, the very air itself as a casuality of war when fighting amongst ourselves. And while the Ants took out a bunch of villages, we have razed entire countries to the ground. Welcome Ants to the Jungle, here have some refreshments, take a seat, get comfortable, but remember, We are the Lion. Meruem thought himself something special, a world changing occurrence, In reality Meruem was a side quest, a pest, a noisy bug that made too much noise and caused Humanity to give it attention. We didn't send a state of the art weapon, we didn't send some one of the kind tool or even dedicate a conference to decide on how to handle some "world level threat". No, we sent a cheap ass outdated weapon that we humans don't even view as worth it's salt". A Poor Man's Nuke. One of the subplots and what makes this show amazing is how they display the Good and Bad qualities of human nature. We are the only creatures who would rather flip the table than admit defeat, meaning we'll destroy the goal rather than let our enemies have it. We are one of few who is willing to kill ourselves to kill others, and feel VINDICATED in doing so. We celebrate war, holidays and have made leathalness into explosive little toys we give children during holidays. Meruem did not properly research Humanity, because if he did he would have been afraid from the start. We use Chemical warfare, mas warfare, We Invent weapons for this express purpose. He was never going to win because he was unable to phantom just how low humanity is willing to go to accomplish our Goals. Remember, though no claws or fangs or poison things, it is humanity that reigns. Not out of muscle nor speed, dexterity nor endurance. But out of our infinite potential towards destruction born from a will NOT to lose. In reality, if the Ants made the news at all the headline would read "Airstrike on X Compound killed terrorist and a bunch of innocents" and we'd all go about our morning as if nothing special happened. The Dragon Raid Attack Could Have been a simple bomb dropped from the sky and the mission would have been fulfilled. Meruem never had a chance. Imagine what an "expensive bomb" looks like when you see the damage the cheap on did... oh wait, you don't have to imagine, You're a human.

I also prefer the Malice translation. It fits the context of the overall message that Togashi is trying to convey in this arc. When Pitou pounced on Kite and sent her aura to scare off Killua and Gon, there was "malice" subtitle on the screen. Netero's violet aura looks kinda similar to that. There's also the skull flashes.

Astor Lefflinker

haha 'he's been armin-ed' funny

Ntsuab Vwj

The two large kanji letters (悪意) are what forms the word malice, while the two smaller kanji (進化) mean evolution. The translations are both correct because Togashi used kanji with different furigana to intentionally convey a double meaning but that gets lost in translation since Western languages don't have a similar language system. The first translation is more straightforward but it's much less symbolic than the second meaning.

Thomas Gullacksen

I'm not sure from where this came. Was the line different in the manga? Because he said "ningen no soko sura nai shinka", which means "human's bottomless/endless evolution", shinka means evolution or development. Not malice 🤔

Aizensalami

Idk how many times I rewatched this fight... Netero the legend! 🔥

Aizensalami

Ty I appreciate it. I just like the use of malice over evolution. So many scenes in this arc that shows no matter how evil the ants appear to be, compared to humans, they are utterly outclassed by how diabolical the human race is

Adam Novak

dwdw, they watched 124-127 in the same day it seems, just released it in dif vids

Starzlix

The thought of one day finishing the Succession War fills you with determination.

Earthquake

The original translation of the netero line about humans infinite potential for evolution is: "Of the Bottomless Malice within the human heart" which imo is more thematically fitting and also one of the coldest lines in anime

Thomas Gullacksen

Close, "Of the Bottomless Malice within the human heart" is the original :)

Thomas Gullacksen

@Thilde yeah i never joined the hyping of episodes even for kite's death, 116, etc. But 128 is something else, it's very hard to hold back the flood gates.

Astor Lefflinker

climax of the arc fr

beannie

Yeah for sure best episode..!

Wesley Lambert

Good job not hyping up an episode lmao

Thilde

128 right?

Astor Lefflinker

I try not to hype up episodes, but next episode is the real PEAK.

Astor Lefflinker

yeah he's done with ch 407! Hope he continues delivering without any Hiatus x Hiatus :') praying for a healthy back for Togashi sensei 😭

Sammie

All these great episodes and still my favorite episode has yet to come! So excited!!

Wesley Lambert

That one handed prayer was iconic. And also something probably deliberately referenced by Gege Akutami in JJK when Todo lost his clapping ability against Mahito. “A prayer comes from the heart.” Vs. “The act of applause is an acclamation of the soul.” And here we have the nuke, a perfect representation of humanity’s ever-evolving capacity to kill and destroy. Between Netero, Gon, and Bizeff, I’d say the humans are handily winning against the ants in the “Who is the worst monster” category. Tbh, I’m glad Komugi is away from Gon now. She’s probably safest with Killua and the others.

Nic Q

I saw today that Togashi is working on new chapters! I hope he's taking care of his health, but man, am I excited for potential continuation of the manga (and hopefully anime)

Martina

Wish it would have been 125-126 together

Muza

I believe the original translation is "Of humanities infinite potential of Malice" just showing no matter how terrible he is. Humans are far more cruel. He is not alone. He has all of the human races destructive capabilities from the start. Man this is easily the best manga/anime ever, ty for choosing it again.

Adam Novak

Netero has a heartfailure at the supermarket - 10 million dead ç-ç

yyy

Netero activating the poor man's rose and Meruem feeling fear creeping on him as the mood swung to Netero's favor gave me Gohan SSJ2 vibes, when Cell slowly realizes he fucked up as he looks at Gohan's power spiking before his eyes. They did a fantastic job

HopelesslyImmersed

“You believe in cannot pray with a single arm?” Absolute chills
