2023-12-10 06:35:44 +0000 UTCI reacted to this episode kind of like Ange did to the last one. Which is also I guess why I put off the rewatch/reaction all week. Bleh, I'm still invested in the show and will keep watching, and the creators have built up a lot of goodwill. But I have kind of a hard time seeing how this gets enjoyable again. The Nobura / Itadori / Fushiguro trio was the best part of the show for me; without her the two remaining just feel like a typical shonen duo. At this point the main thing I want to know is what all the build-up with Tengen was at the start of the season.

Especially with the last 2 deaths we had, both characters had multiple episodes in which they were badass and had their moments. Honestly the complaints about this show's character deaths just sound like teenagers being overly salty about their "favorite characters" being gone. I don't even understand the saltiness. I ENJOY when media makes me feel sad/upset about things. That means it's doing what it's supposed to do. I love many typical shounen anime (like DBZ) in which no one dies but there's a reason why more modern shows like this have an impact on me as an adult and it's because there are actual stakes.

2023-12-02 09:51:14 +0000 UTCAbout Nobara's last words, don't know if it's a translation issue or something, but I once saw a translate version in manga was something like "tell everyone it's actually not bad I get to know you guys" Don't know if this is the right version, but I kinda like this one cus it seems related to the scenes where everyone Nobara cares sitting in the chair around her. Still "Life wasn't bad after all" is okay with me, it make me feel like she's kind of in relief when she actually know she's gonna die, and decided she doesn't regret for anything in her life, which is one thing I really like about Nobara.

About Nobara's last words (and Nanami's): Keep in mind in the JJK Universe, it was mentioned before but easy to forget, someone's final words hold a lot of weight. You can end up cursing someone. So, if it feels like their final words aren't a bit personal it's because they fully are aware that they don't want to leave a curse on someone. P.S: Which is why in JJK 0 when Gojo appears before Geto at Geto's final moments, Gojo says something to Geto but it's muted. Geto smiles and says, "You should have at least cursed me in the end" because he felt that was more deserving for the awful things he knows that he's done.

I don’t want to go into too much detail but I remember an interview when Gege said that either everyone in the main group will die but one, or only one dies and everyone survives, we still don’t know which one it is but it looks like yuji might be the only survivor. But the fact he told us this is too predictable which is why I think he’s just misleading us, I think in the end, out of the main group (gojo, megumi, nobara, yuji) only yuji will die. Also the fact that Noabaras death is so open ended whereas usually deaths in JJK are extremely certain. Same with another character I won’t say for the sake of spoilers (the chopped fish)

Each reaction rewatch is hitting hard.

I also find it a bit of a breath of fresh air that a main character isn’t safe in the story. It feels very “attack on titan” and I’m fine with that darker tone

It’s always the selfish in jjk who survive and the selfless who die mirroring how society exploits those who are too selfless. Gege is very brutal with his deaths and I understand why people don’t like it but idk, for me I think the deaths are good. They’re realistic in the context of the world it’s in and I think both Nanami and nobaras deaths were very important thematically. Just my opinion
