P$do definition is a preference for pre-pubescent children. That's not Hisoka. He has a sexual preference for anyone strong enough to suit him. His preference is not for pre-pubescent Gon. He wants him to be older and stronger. That's the reverse of p$do (although he's still totally turned on by the potential). He likes him (and Killua) *despite* the fact that they are kids, not *because* of it. Don't get me wrong. That doesn't detract from the fact that Hisoka is a MASSIVE PERVERT. It just changes the nature of his perversion. SPOILER Plus he shows many times the same reaction to adults. So the fact that Gon and Killua are children are children is not a sign of his sexual preferences.

2023-12-08 03:56:56 +0000 UTCnote on hisoka - he isn't necessarily a p3do, he's just very turned on by fighting, powerful opponents, blood, gore, all that stuff. it's not that he's specifically attracted to children, thankfully you'll see later on in the show, he gets turned on by violence and power in general. he does make multiple comments that make him seem more like a p3do though, but i think he's just really weird and doesn't care at all about how his actions make people uncomfortable. there is one scene eventually that makes everyone think he's definitely a p3do (yes it's worse than the schwing) but when you get to that i'll explain why other people think he actually did it however, he's still really creepy and never fails to make me cringe away from my screen :') really interesting character! if he was real i would slander him but he's fictional and he makes the show super entertaining so i feel like i can defend him lol

It's not like the anime is saying that it's "ok" or anything lol. I have to say though, I was DYING watching that scene and your reactions to it. It's just so over the top that it becomes hilarious as opposed to disturbing. On a more somber note: Judging from Carlie's reaction to this, I honestly don't think y'all would be able to handle Mushoku Tensei if you ever did get around to watching it. If you thought the "SCHWING" scene was uncomfortable? There are a handful of scenes in MT that are even more so. Doesn't change the fact that it's a masterpiece anime, though.

Such an epic moment, and yet only a fraction of what comes later.

And remember Hisoka was tracking them and knew Gon was at the arena to train to challenge him, but Hisoka said he would only accept the challenge if Gon managed a win in the 200s - which he did against the bully trio! Also Wing deserves an apology for all the suspicions y'all put on that sweet man!

In the 1999 version, they used Togashi's avatar instead, a dog character with glasses lol Also I'd say that Ange is an emitter or a manipulator while Carlie is a conjurer or enhancer.

Yes, if you focus your aura on a specific part of your body, like eyes in the case of 'gyo', the other parts of your body will have no aura for defense, so nen fighters have to be smart when to use 'gyo'. Also, yes, the Killua torture training was a good callback, but there's also a reason why Gon's fishing rod doesn't break. That's why I recommended the 1st episode of the 1999 version in the Golden Jellie recommendations for November as that episode tackles that as well as a certain character that Gon met in his childhood. The 2011 version cut those parts but it's how the manga starts so I really hope you watch it.
