2023-12-02 23:10:40 +0000 UTCI think you should pronounce her name more slowly, as Fredder reeka It's also interesting how the Federacy of Giad is basically all ethnically 86 according to the Alba, yet they too discriminate against Spearhead Squad. At least those in the military do.

2023-11-29 20:40:14 +0000 UTCThe symbolism of history and the depth of details are the most appreciated for me personally. The bonds of 86, their individual back stories peak my interest and curiosity. To shine light on the fact , that this anime requires the audience to really infer and analyse what we see. It is the greatest show to give interactive resposibility to the audience, thats why most people(including me) have it fly straight over our head assuming its just an anime like AOT. Fortunately being 86, it has its own essence ~ show and dont tell! No other anime requires you to understand whats being depicted(except A silent voice, thats the same as this ~side by side). After learning this I rewatched both about 6 times and gained the full experience, guarantee my reactions were priceless. Wish I could have recorded mine however I'll invest for my son to be blessed with fruits of being real with content creation. Appreciate finding all reactors I support and truly enjoy due to some resonances. Maintain a heathy lifestyle and take what you need from the anime Gods.

2023-11-29 17:13:37 +0000 UTCFun fact! The huntsman plane (lol) is actually based off a real life plane developed by the Soviet Union in the 1960's called the Caspian Sea Monster. Absolutely unreal that it was an actual thing developed and used in our world and not just a cool sci-fi plane for a story.

2023-11-29 17:09:30 +0000 UTCAs someone who did get really invested in Lena & Shin's relationship in the first half of the show, I remember not being as tuned in for this second half. But honestly, seeing Carlie and Ange, but especially Ange get so invested in the Shin & "Federica from the Frederacy" bond has given me a completely new appreciation for the show

2023-11-29 14:06:13 +0000 UTCalso, its been said multiple times now in cour 2 how Shin basically doesnt have anything left to live for now that his brother is gone. the reason Lena shows up there and Shin says "then i wanted you to live longer than we did" entrusting his future to her -> "we're going on ahead major". she had become his reason to live after his brother died, and now with the republic being overrun with legion, he assumes shes dead now and once again his only purpose for living is gone.

2023-11-29 12:38:40 +0000 UTCShin wasnt "hearing" his dead comrades and Lena, its a visual manifestation of what he thinks they see of him, basically the voices in his head of his fallen friends. its in his mind thinking back on what they said to him in the past and what he thinks they would say to him now in this situation. its all just his inner thoughts. just thought i would clarify that at least.

2023-11-29 12:32:10 +0000 UTCThe sad song after the big speech is that, despite all the talk about how the 86's mission is tantamount to suicide, the reality is that the main army is attacking a much larger force as a decoy. Their survival is FAR from guaranteed. A great many of them will die tonight as well.

2023-11-29 11:00:36 +0000 UTCOrdinary guy you have to convince them to do 3 episodes next week so the last 2 are together!

2023-11-29 08:11:38 +0000 UTCLoving your reaction to these episodes. I think episode 17, and that scene you both also discussed, has to be amongst my favorites of all time. I remember years just coming down my face when watching it the first time hoooo

2023-11-29 08:10:45 +0000 UTCThe hunter plane was the best option they had to transport them into enemy territory not just because its fast, but also because if it got shot down, the landing is less likely to kill anyone in it. There are no fighter jets/transport planes used in the war because the Legion have control of the airspace. Anything that's detected flying into their territory is immediately shot down, like Lena and her dad when they went on their helicopter ride.

2023-11-29 07:48:57 +0000 UTCEp 18 hits hard Ernst speech was hella good and what makes the federacy way better than the republic is they’re all being decoys and sacrificing themselves just for shin and his team to get close to the morpho to destroy it also kinda like when shin does his crazy smile he looks even more badass lol even tho it’s more like him getting into a state where he doesn’t care about what’s happening around him and going all suicidal mode

2023-11-29 07:36:15 +0000 UTCAlso, the light novels said that Ernst lost his pregnant wife to the war and it was her that believed in an idealistic and benevolent world. He took on those ideals and is willing to do anything to achieve them, like he did when he overthrew the Empire and created the Federacy with an emphasis on justice.

2023-11-29 07:34:45 +0000 UTCAs a therapist its so refreshing to see how well 86 explores trauma, its done with so much respect, and the direction only makes it hit 100x harder 😭 gives me arcane vibes

2023-11-29 06:50:00 +0000 UTCwas just about to go to bed....but SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK, LETS GOOOO Also, I believe Ernst is just a hardcore idealist who believes in the goodness/morals of humanity - especially considering the protection of children. When our gang first pops up, he's instantly protective of them against the other political and military officials because they are children, and because he believes humans should want to help each other. And now him saying he'd burn the world down if they die on this suicide mission they've been forced into (even though we know they'd choose to go anyway)... Ernst is an interesting contrast to Lena's uncle I think, as he recognized "ideals" but found them unattainable and gave up, whereas Ernst believes "ideals" should be lived by and, if abandoned, it would be better to simply die. Kinda scary for a leader to have such strict principles, even if it's for "good" haha.
