yeah it was Tsukishima's turn to serve and usually I see this a lot in volleyball that they switch them with better receivers and/or servers

2023-11-25 22:28:07 +0000 UTCTsukki was subbed out there because he was serving. He's okay at serves but the most important thing is that it means he's rotated to the back line. A rotation with Tsukki at the back line is the weakest Karasuno lineup because Tsukki can't block at the net, he's not a great receiver, and he doesn't do back attacks. Basically, his contribution when he's at the back is okay-to-negative. They don't always sub him out when he's at the back but in this situation, with Karasuno down in points, they need someone who can contribute to the defense as a receiver and Suga can do that as well as add a new angle of attack since he can set for Kageyama (who is actually really good as an attacker). And also he's better than Tsukki at serves.
