It's a bit abbreviated but it does a good job covering everything that is truly needed and is on point with casting, costumes, set design and its script. Hope you enjoy it!

So I finished 45 episodes before the live action released and it is amazing how much they stuck to the original! But also I like the small changes that were made to accommodate live action while still retaining the heart of the manga/show! Also all the actors are absolutely amazing! Luffy's actor is so good as him! So are all the others! Also One Piece is very friendship focused show so no ships between the crew.

2023-09-12 23:33:40 +0000 UTCI think Luffy's actor does a great job at coming across as empathetic but dumb which is his most important aspect. I think he's weak when it comes time to be angry and serious. Also he can be faster when it comes to his timing on saying something stupid. I think he's passable but frankly he could work on the character for sure. Zoro and Nami are both a lot better. But Zoro comes across as too one note. Zoro in the anime actually does smile. Some of his most iconic moments are when he's doing like a menacing smile. Nami is probably the best of the 3 imo. Only issue with her is she feels a little flat when she's expressing anger. When she said "I hate pirates. I hate them" it felt more like she was explaining to her server that she had pineapple on her pizza. Colby and Helmeppo funny enough I think are some of the best actors in the series. Colby was this perfect anxious little meerkat and Helmeppo was this perfect big mouth spoiled brat.

I haven't seen all of OP but I had pretty much everything that goes into this adaptation and I actually liked better how they did some stuff in the live-action, which has no precedent xD. First Arcane with an amazing videogame adaptation and now this. Who would've thought.

Most episodes compress the plot points and add parts that happened off screen. Most of the writing choices make sense financially, though there are a few straying episodes that disappoint fans, but I don’t know if newbies will care. Zoro is EXACTLY like the anime. Luffy embodies the spirit of the character. Great casting!

I was one of those people who said they’d never watch one piece cause of the length but I finally did and just recently caught up and I have to say this might be my favorite anime of all time!! I enjoyed the live action as well too!! Hopefully in the future well see the anime on here!!

Jumping on the hype train makes total sense for a reaction channel, I won't deny that - it brings you views & traffic, it stops the daily / hourly show request comments from people who insist you watch the newest popular thing (at least until next time), and it makes a lot of people happy. You've mentioned that every option in the "OUR BIGGEST POLL!" poll is an anime you're interested in watching some day, so you'll at least get to dip your toes in the One Piece waters now (13% RIP). Oh, and I've heard good things about the live action series, which honestly shocked me (live action shonen doesn't have the best track record), so it sounds like you're in for a good time. 🙂 The reason(s) I have mixed feelings about this news is because, as I referenced, One Piece didn't win the poll. I haven't seen the live action series yet, so it'd be unfair of me to praise or critique, but I'm sad to know you won't be going on the same One Piece journey I grew up with. The series means a lot to me (kinda like Ange and DBZ), so knowing that you won't be blind if / when you react to the anime's East Blue Saga makes me kinda sad. Contrary to my rant, I really do hope you enjoy the live action series. Again, I haven't seen it yet, but when that day comes, I'll be excited to watch it again with you guys. Please be careful of anime + manga spoilers (especially on YouTube). As you're well aware, fans can sometimes inadvertently reveal more than they should about the shows they love. I'd hate to see someone explaining what the live action leaves out if you still plan on watching the anime eventually.

The hole series is not completely accurate, but near so they can convey the meaning and feeling. And that’s the big difference to all the trash Live Action anime series, the creator of one piece was involved in this Serie. There is even a video on the Netflix channel where the Actor of Luffy is meeting Oda.

In the future if you ever want to explore other amazing anime adaptions, the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies are in my opinion the best live action anime adaptions and have incredible choreography. The actor for Zoro is actually in them too
