This is why to this day I think Haikyuu is the best sports anime. The way it draws you in the matches, as you said, like a real spectator and gradually helps you understand the sport itself is unparalleled.

S1 is the least nerve racking season of haikyuu imo, so you better prepare yourselves lol. Tsukki is 188 cm tall Aone (#7) is 191 cm tall I love Aone he really is cute and a big softie, he just looks a little intense๐ And the great thing is, you don't even need a tragic backstory to make you like the characters. In the manga, at the end of the chapters are sometimes character info sheets with their height, birthday, ability parameters etc., and it also shows the current worry of the characters. We had Aones' info sheet during the chapters of this match and his current worry was "When he sits down on the train, no one ever sits near him" ๐ญ I was really surprised with Anges' reaction, saying "it's alright, it's alright" when Hinata messed up the serve and hit it out. Judging from his previous reactions I thought he would kinda react like Kageyama (just not as harsh) when it happened๐คฃ

I choked on my spicey chicken sandwich. Spices went in the wrong places. I looked like the Karasuno sempai's when Shimizu said "Do your best".

It's nice to see you guys are respecting both teams while ofc still mainly rooting for Karasuno. Stefano also mentioned this, but I've also never seen Carlie this energetic and vocal about a show. The energy you guys exude during these reactions makes me think you guys are watching some top-level NBA games. HYPEkyu living up to its name I can see what you mean when you say #7 is kind of cute. While I'm not 100% sure if this is the case, there's a Japanese term for his kind of character. It uses the English word, "gap" (gyappu), and it means when someone has two contradicting characteristics (discrepancies). In #7 Aone's case, he has that stoic-scary expression and he rarely talks, but in reality, he's a wholesome guy who cares for others (the 3rd years in this case). Kind of like Asahi. It's a weird term used to explain a lot of character traits in anime, but I like the word. I love how you guys still find it so strange that the name "Date" is pronounced differently. Gives me a good chuckle. Must be so surreal seeing English spelled words have a completely different meaning in another language. Fun fact: Their school was named after a very famous Edo-period ruler named "Date Masamune". Yup, his name is Date ๐

Match point is 24 (unless tied), a term used when a team is one score away from winning the match. Its a hype moment because the opposing team's back is against the wall and any mistake loses them the game, which is why they started rooting to get to match point first.

Of course you wonโt get the accuracy of your platform or ten fingers but do it when needed.

As someone from football background I used a lot of feet when digging Ange will probably relate coz we who play football bring that into to other sports.
