River Delta, Adept

Hi Adepts- this is the River Delta (25x30), the mouth of a regular ol' river featuring a bunch of rocky platforms which you may attempt to hop across at your peril. I didn't make much of an attempt to space them in a convenient way, but I think there are obvious routes your party can take as long as jumping is an option for them.

1. Yup, a river with some rocky bits sticking out. You can see I was flirting with the idea of adding some bridges over the river in the form of fallen logs, but I decided that I'd rather go all in on bridges than give one or two and that's it. Also, the single fallen log didn't quite feel right on this map, it's placed a little conveniently for my sake so I guess it looked a little odd.

   The platforms were shifted around a fair amount here, mostly because I felt that their layout was a little awkward. I removed a few and shifted the rest slightly to make them a bit more irregularly located around the river.

1. I don't know why I thought this was a good idea. There are so many rock walls here, it's torture. Even so, I jumped at it with an unusual level of motivation and a movie playing on my 2nd monitor and managed to draw most of the ledges in a single day. I don't know what happened after that, I couldn't get my head right from that point on and every following step of this map was like pulling teeth, zero motivation or ability to make creative decisions. Art block, I guess, which is a bummer when I work on such a tight schedule. Nothing to do but push through it, but it ruins my vibe to have to do it.

1. Detailing and outlining was hard, yes, but I honestly have rarely had a harder time coloring a map. I don't know what came over me, but I spent days coloring, erasing, and recoloring much of this map ad nauseam. Today I decided I was already creeping so far behind schedule that I could no longer justify spending time on this map, so I settled with what you see here- not my best but there we are. I don't know what it was, but the color of the water plus the green of the grass just never got to a point where they looked right. I want to elaborate on that but I honestly can't, my stupid eyes just couldn't get there with this map. That's showbiz, I guess, sometimes you blank and that's that.
