This week's tiny map is the Rocky Peninsula (11x16)! You know how I said I was probably done making these little maps? Well, then I got some positive feedback on the micro-maps, sketched one I ended up really liking, and decided maybe I wasn't quite as finished with them as I thought. If no one objects, I suppose I'll keep going—at the end of the day, I'm here to make the maps you want, and that's exactly what I plan on doing.
This one is a fairly simple outcropping that I wildly overcomplicated by drawing it in a way I've never drawn rock walls before. I think I like the result, but I bet I can improve it with more iteration. I also took this opportunity to practice with my regular forest palette, which hasn't seen much use this year. It's always eye-opening to return to an old classic—I found it trickier than I remembered, but maybe that's because my expectations are higher now than they were the last time I used it.
Maybe I’ll revisit a few other environments in miniature that haven’t seen the light of day recently…
