Comparative Sizes (Old) & New Characters
Added 2021-07-13 04:46:55 +0000 UTCHey, sorry about the nearly 2-week quiet! I tend to work in... solitude? Quiet? Something to that effect, plugging away until I suddenly have a ball of assets or work done.
As the title states, here are two pictures. The first, from an old build of the game, showcases the various-sized sprites I had made, stashed in a test room. Because I'm... bad at this, I was struggling to keep track of what sizes/classes what characters had, so... I made a spreadsheet. A fat spreadsheet.
There are several details here to take note. First, the flagrant 'template' use; that is to say, I make a sprite of a certain size, then edit it to fit other characters. Notably, the player character 'Kui' and the roommate 'Rumia' will always share sprites, other than their heads of course. Second, that not all characters have the same amount of sprites; for example, characters like Nanette and Bella, who are already fat, have starting sprites in the second, 'plump' stage. And third, the blobby sprites... Kui's is already accessible in the current release build as a reward for grinding, but it skipped over a size to get to it. I've since made up a sprite size between the blob and its predecessor, so the transition isn't so sudden.
Also, geez Rachel's boobs get huge. Still cracks me up.
The second, smaller picture shows some of the new characters I've made up. One is Charity, being a simple edit of Nanette's sprite... The dark-skinned schoolgirl is Priya, who has a mostly-original sprite set (she's technically based on Jamie... technically). The gal in orange is Sheila, an inmate from St. Hampton's (aka The Ham), a prison mentioned in passing that will function as another dungeon/region. And the lady on the far left is REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED.

She's a secret character, haha.
The current plan has me spriting up three more characters, not to mention bringing them up to size parity... And then I need to start making portraits. OOF.
