But even with insurance, he would've had to pay "some." The question ultimately is whether or not a government should take over the industry and remove private interests. And that's not as easy an answer as some suggest. It is, however, a popular solution when you look at countries outside the USA. Nationalize the entire deal, and everyone working in healthcare becomes a public employee, essentially. The US has a mixed arrangement, with private and public jumbled together with confusing regulations and relationships. And the open market is tilted unnaturally toward being more expensive than it should be. But free choice remains--if you have the dough.
