Directember: Baking Lessons
Added 2024-12-17 19:55:56 +0000 UTCAww, Clinton and Elliot being cute and bi at each other! And also Cosmo is there! That bear looks like more of a woodchuck or perhaps some kind of terrier though. Clinton and Elliot are a cute couple, it was a lot of fun writing them slowly spiraling into the makeout zone. It has, shockingly, been quite some time since we've seen THEM either! Cubetown and then The Stuff That Happened After Cubetown really monopolized my entire brain for a couple years. AND IT MAY CONTINUE TO DO SO! Or not. I haven't started actually writing any post-break comics yet. I'm still trying to choose between several possible threads/ideas. This is normally VERY STRESSFUL because I'm either working on a tight deadline or trying to build/preserve whatever buffer I have. But in this case it's just kind of chill and fun mulling over what I could do next. Smash cut to 10 days from now where I'm like AHHHHH WHAT AM I GONNA DOOOOOOOOO (I'll be fine, it will be fine)

I was Sooo invested in their Will They/Won't They. Thinking about it just now, I think this was one of my Most invested/desperately hoping ships-to-be, though Definitely below the ones for Bubbles/Faye and Marten/Claire, of fuckin obviously course 😂 I know it's been a while since we've seen 'em, but I want to check in on them for two reasons: 1, I really want to see more of how Clin-Ton's feeling about Claire's new job and all. I mean, yes, obviously we know he's real jealous about it, but also, his big sis is moving away! They seem to have always lived really close to each other, and we know that they see each other a lot and stay in touch and updated even when they can't hang out in person. We also know he's really protective of her, despite being the younger one, haha, so surely his protective instincts have been going whack at the thought of her being so far away in such a new situation, one that's going to be confusing and overwhelming and scary in a lot of ways, probably even once she's managed to settle down. It's Cubetown, after all. We've seen how Faye's being doing, and we've gotten some time with Aurelia's feelings too, but what about the Clin-Ton of it all! And reason number 2 for why I really want to check in... how's Elliot been feeling about Yay??? It wasn't just Roko and Aurelia, Elliot was their friend too!! I know their friendship may not have been quiiite as deep as Roko and Aurelia's, but they did still have a unique dynamic.** Elliot definitely felt comfortable opening up to them, and Yay would even offer emotional support, even comfort at times! And what about Hercules??? Surely Yay must miss him too!!! 😭😭😭 Wherever Yay is, I hope they feel at the very least ok enough to still be digging through Elliot's social media for Hercules pics :( Probably goes without saying that I hope they've been feeling the same about Cosmo. Side note, how great would it be if Aurelia had an entirely separate profile just for Cosmo. Imagine it; Pics! Updates! New merch announcements! Silly messages full of typos and bad grammar as if written by Cosmo herself! And if Aurelia hadn't made one for her already, I'm sure Yay did it for her, regardless of whether Aurelia specifically requested it or not. (**And speaking of unique dynamic, what about Melon?? Someone please tell me how Melon's been taking all this ;-; We've seen Melon be uncharacteristically gloomy and sober when she's worried about Roko, I want to see what she's going through having lost her other best friend)

Do the turkey comic and then run Directember, or bembo or guest strips again to wrap up the year and give yourself some well deserved time. Go on a vacation, play guitar, do nothing.... You deserve a break and time to do other things too, Jeph. I think most of us on here are of the same or similar opinion as well. None of us want you to force output and you not be happy with it, or burnout completely and lose your desire to continue QC.
