2020-12-20 02:22:33 +0000 UTCA comment on the Stealth Spaceships and the NROL-15. It's probably designed so that it's hard to see via radar _from the ground_. Modern stealth aircraft are usually designed for the radar systems in use by Russia, China, and other polities. They operate within a narrow spectrum of the frequencies used by those radar systems. Still, the Russians found a way to see stealth aircraft using low frequency radars. The B-2 can be seen with civilian radar. However, the resolution is such that it can't be used for weapon targeting or guidance. Still, it might be good enough to get some fighters in the correct region and they'd take it down with IR guided missiles... So the spy satellite is probably optimized to defeat radar from below... not from above like a orbital radar satellite...?
