41)Perfection? Not For Me: Ch.41

The only sound that came from the frozen world was my own and that of Towa's as we walked towards Hit, who stayed in his stance while glancing at the world around us.

“You can use Time Skip too?” He asked and I chuckled before Towa spoke for me.

“We are using something far more powerful than your paltry Time Skip, but I have had enough of your presence. Cuu, I will face off against him.”

“You sure? You're not the fighter type.” I said and she rolled her eyes before turning back to Hit as he rushed forward. His fist came within mere centimeters of hitting me before it was blocked, his eyes narrowing slightly as I floated back while a clone of his stopped him from attacking.

Quickly jumping back, the clone vanished as Towa swirled her sceptre, Hit unleashing his power with a frown before rushing back at her.

Time Skip after Time Skip was used in rapid succession and I had to admit that I was impressed while watching the guy being able to even more in my Frozen Time, but unfortunately for him, he was up against the Mistress Who Defied Time.

With but a flex of her power and a wave of her sceptre, the world around Hit slowed down, the assassin looking surprised to see himself moving in slow motion while Towa pointed her sceptre at him.

Archaic sigils appeared around her before black ki chains shot out of them, making the space-time continuum rumble as the chains vanished halfway before Hit found himself frozen in place.

“Now, who sent you?” She asked while dismissing her chains and I frowned before looking to the side to see Hit appearing from thin air with a violet aura clinging to his form.

'Ah, I see. That Time Prison thing he used against Goku.' Hit didn't answer as he simply looked at Towa before rushing in once more.

However, as he got close to her, my eyes widened as the Assassin lifted two fingers to his forehead before vanishing entirely from my senses, Towa herself raising an eyebrow as numerous Time Clones appeared around Towa with a fist pulled back.

“Time Release.” As each Hit clone punched forward, I vanished and appeared besides Towa, unleashing a burst of ki that shattered the invisible ki punches he threw at her.

“I could have handled that.” She answered and I smirked as I saw the spatial distortion around her body.

“I know, but Hit is here for me, not you. I'd rather not have my girlfriend be killed by an accident.”

“Hah, very well. If you must, I shall let you fight the battles.” I just smiled at her exasperation before looking back at the Hit clones who had surrounded me from all sides.

“So, before we start, do you want to just tell me who hired you to kill me.”

“I will not.” Hit's voice didn't come from any of the clones but instead echoed in the air, making me sigh before I stretched my arms with a groan.

“Very well. Ready yourself.” With a grunt, the ground caved in as I shot towards the first group of clones, who all rushed at me only to be eviscerated by the first punch I threw.

They didn't stay destroyed for long as Hit's ki gathered and restored the clones, making me hum as I flew upwards and let them fly after me.

'No matter what he tries, I can sense his ki, but it could be him or it could just be a clone. The guy's a pretty good hider, I'll give him that.' The Hit clones closed in on me from all directions, their punches and kicks coming at me like a storm.

Yet, each of them simply passed through my body like mirages as I stood still, my senses focused on the immediate space around me in hopes of detecting the first actual blow.

I did not have to wait as I tensed and shifted to the side, Hit immediately raising his arms as I swung and delivered a crushing blow that sent him spiralling through the air.

However, as I rushed after him, I cursed as the clones above vanished and reformed around him, stopping in the centre of the clones that continued their illusionary attacks on me.

“You can't keep this up forever.” His voice echoed and I turned around, grabbing the punch thrown at me before grinning at Hit's glare as I slowly pulled him closer.

“I didn't need to. Now, clench your jaw.” Before he could even blink, I swung an uppercut that connected to his chin with a vicious boom, sending Hit flipping through the air like a ragdoll.

“Kai-Kai!” With a thought, I appeared in Hit's flight path with my fist pulled back and enlarged to twice my body's size, the heavy punch connecting with a thunderous shockwave and sending him crashing back into the ground.

'Huh, I hit him with enough force that would knock out Vegeta or Goku. Guess he really is stronger than they are.' I thought with a frown as I floated down, landing a few meters away from the crater as I watched Hit climb out of it with a grunt.

“Hey, Hit. Is a job paying you that much that you're willing to put your life on the line here?” I asked, sitting down while ignoring the punch he threw that impacted my chest.

I did feel a spark of pain from it, but looking at the defeated look in Hit's eyes as he sat down in front of me with a grunt, I realized it was probably the same move he used to stop Goku's heart.

“I will not talk about my employer.”

“That's fine. Just tell me, then. What were your orders?”

“Capture the new Emperor Meruem. Kill him if not possible and run away if he's too strong.”

“Emperor Meruem? Huh, I did not know news of my rise to power had spread to Universe 6.”

“Explain.” Hit spoke with a frown, narrowing his eyes at my chuckle while Towa giggled at his look.

“Meruem is I and I am Meruem, though Meruem himself was a fragment of my soul that I removed to take over the Frieza Force in my stead. With how surprised you sounded by that noise, I'm guessing that your employer themselves do not know or that they did not deem you important enough to let you know.”

“I'd like to think it might be the latter. After all, this employer gets to see how strong you are while also taking out a potential assassin that could be used against him.” Towa said with a smirk and Hit frowned before I smiled and snapped my fingers.

Hit didn't say anything as his injuries were healed within the blink of an eye, simply standing up while holding my gaze as I floated to my feet.

“To make matters worse, your target doesn't exist anymore. What you were after was nothing more than a fragment of my soul.”

“And now that fragment has combined with Cuu once more, becoming someone far beyond anything you were told of.”

“Then, the contract is voided. If my target is indeed gone, I have no need to be here.”

“That's what I've been saying from the start. So, what are you going to do?”

“I will return back to my universe and find this person on my own.”

“Actually, how did you get to this universe? Last I checked, there are only a few spells and objects that can pass through the boundaries of the universes without alerting the gods in charge of said universe.” Towa spoke with a frown, which I mirrored as I realized that she was on to something here.

“I do not know. My employer simply told me to find my target and take them out. The moment the mission was completed, I would be sent back to Universe 6, but since the mission is not done…”

“You're stuck here.” I muttered, watching as he gave a slight nod before blinking as I remembered there being a certain person I could ask.

'And since he's most definitely the strongest of Universe 7, all I have to do is feel for his energy and…there!'

“Hey, Lord Whis. Are you there?”

“Cuu…Ah, the Kai's Intergalactic Telepathy. Quite the skill you have mastered there.” Whis spoke from the other side and I smiled, confusing Hit who looked to Towa for an explanation only for her to shake her head in response.

“Thank you. I have a question and maybe a request if it comes to that.”

“A request from an angel? My, my~ Such a daring person you are. Ufufufu~ Very well. What is your question?”

“Thank you for listening. I wished to know if there are any spells and/ or objects that would allow one to travel between universes undetected.”

“Why do you wish to know?” He asked, his tone still jovial but a bit more serious as I looked to Hit.

“Because I have an assassin here that was sent from Universe 6 to kill me. Hit the Legendary Assassin, if that rings a bell.”

“Can't say it does, but the fact that he is here from Universe 6 is quite the conundrum. Hmm, perhaps you should contact the Supreme Kai of our universe and explain the situation.”

“Will he listen to me considering the whole…Buu thing?” I asked, remembering how scared shitless Shin was of Buu in the original canon timeline and how he tried his best to make sure the bubblegum bastard never woke up.

“Shin should, but I suppose you are telling the truth. I suppose I should come with just to make sure you don't kill Lord Shin to kill Lord Beerus as well.”

“Is he scared I might do that?” I asked with a smirk, chuckling as Whis just giggled in response.

“Not in the slightest~”

“Very well. Once we're done there, I'll take you to Bulma on Earth and have her give you all sorts of treats.”

“Ooh~ How lovely. Give me eleven Takks and I'll be ready.”

'That is…five minutes in Earth time.'

“Of course, I'll see you then.” I spoke and nodded as he cut the signal off, looking back at Hit who had picked up his coat and thrown it on.

“Good news. You and I will be heading off to meet an angel that will take us to the Supreme Kai, who will then most likely take you back home.”

“…How close is he to the gods?” He asked as he turned to Towa, who giggled as I rolled my eyes.

“He has fought and survived against Lord Beerus, so I'd say very close.”

“I see.” He muttered before I finally dismissed the Frozen Time spell around, amused as the army were confused by Hit's vanishing before they turned to us as I spoke.

“Alright, everyone! Can I have your attention so I can explain everything?! Good! Let's start from the beginning.”

“Kai-Kai.” With one simple chant, the world around us shifted from the world of Imperium to the planet of Lord Beerus, both Hit and I looking at the ever so cheerful Whis in front of us while Monaito gawked at the planet we were now on.

“Ah, quite the mastery of the technique, indeed. You must be the famous assassin Hit, yes?” Hit didn't say anything as he simply nodded, but I did see the wariness and caution in his eyes when the angel turned to me.

“Also, this is Monaito, a commander of the Imperial Empire and a close friend.”

“O-Oh, I wouldn't say we're close, but we are friends, yes. It is an honour to meet you, esteemed Lord Whis.”

“Ah, no need for the Lord. Simply Whis will do. After all, I am not as egotistical as my dear Lord Beerus.” I couldn't help the snicker that escaped my lips at the jab at Beerus, but I rolled my eyes when Hit turned his frown to me.

“Right, right. Anyway, are you ready, Whis? Or do you need more time to prepare?”

“I'm quite ready to go. Also, you were right in your decision to contact myself first as no being is allowed to traverse the boundaries between universes without the consent of the Supreme Kais."

“Whew~ Thank you guys I did. I do not need unnecessary drama with the gods right now.” I muttered and he smirked before Hit raised an eyebrow as I held a hand out.

“Alright, everyone. Place a hand on mine and I'll take us to the Kais.”

“I will respectfully decline.” Whis answered with a smile as he placed his sceptre on my left shoulder, Monaito doing the same with his staff on my right shoulder before Hit placed a hand on Monaito's shoulder.

“Seriously, no one wants to have fun these days. Kai-Kai.” I grumbled and the world around us shifted once again, the sight of Beerus' planet vanishing and a beautiful landscape took its place.

I was less focused on the physical beauty of it and more on the ambient god ki in the air, taking a deep breath and bathing in it before turning to Hit as he spoke.

“Where is this Supreme Kai?”

“Right behind you.” Whis said while gesturing in said direction with his sceptre, both Hit and I turning only for me to smile as I saw both Shin and Kibito looking at me in shock and horror.

Shin just looked shocked to see both Whis and I standing in his domain while Kibito looked horrified to see me looking back at him.

“Hi~” I waved while mimicking Kid Buu's voice, making Shin's eyes widen before bursting out into laughter as Kibito fainted and Whis giggled.

“L-L-Lord Whis! Why is Majin Buu free?!”

“Ufufufu~ This is not Majin Buu, Lord Shin. This is Cuu, a fusion between Cell and Majin Buu that has also been deemed a worthy opponent by Lord Beerus.” That seemed to have been too much for him as we watch him faint into a heap right besides Kibito.

Both Monaito and I just blinked as we stared at the two unconscious Kais while Hit stood there before turning to the giggling Whis.

“When can I leave?”

“A-Apologies for my inappropriate behaviour. It was just a shock to see Majin Buu back after all the years he's been sealed.” Shin apologized with a shaky smile and I gave him a thumbs-up as all of us were seated at the table under a lush green tree.

“Your reaction is quite understandable, Lord Shin. I hope you and Lord Kibito were not too traumatized by it.”

“I-It will…take me a while to get used to the fact that Majin Buu is not trying to destroy the universe.”

“Majin Cuu, actually. I changed my name while in the Demon Realm.”

“You were in the Demon Realm?” Shin asked with a surprised look before being shocked even further as I continued speaking.

“Yeah, I went there with Dabura and we along with his younger sister Towa took care of Demigra and Mechikabura while down there.”

“…Excuse me?” Whis was the one who asked that with a frown and I blinked before nodding.

“I along with Dabura and Towa took out Mechikabura and Demigra and afterwards, I absorbed the both of them.”

“…That would explain how skilled you are with the techniques of the Kais.” Kibito muttered and I shrugged before turning to Shin as he spoke with a frown.

“You do understand with this new information, you are in quite the position to become the next Supreme Kai should something happen to me. Matter of fact, if one takes into account that you possess the other Supreme Kais and the Grand Supreme Kai, then you are most definitely in a better position to be Supreme Kai.”

“…Why do I feel like this is a job interview? I just came to help Hit get back to his…home…” I blinked as I stared at Hit's empty seat, slowly turning back to Shin who smiled while lowering his hands.

“I've already sent him to the Supreme Kai of Universe 6 who will send him back home.”

“…Monaito, do you think this is a job interview?”

“Considering you are trying your best to better the universe which is what a Supreme Kai would do, I would definitely say that this is this job interview you spoke of.”

“It is a bit unconventional since you are not of the Glind race, but since you have Majin Buu's DNA inside of yourself, you could shift your form to make yourself a Glind so that requirement does not apply to you.”

“Are you seriously asking me to become the Supreme Kai of Universe 7?” I asked with a raised eyebrow and Shin smiled as he shook his head.

“Not at this current moment. For now, I simply wish to have you as my champion and afterwards, I'll converse with the Great Lord Zeno and the Grand Priest to see if it would be possible. What do you say?” He asked and I frowned as I sat back and cross my arms.

“Well, I'll have to say…”

A/N: …Cliffhanger? I don't know. Is this a cliffhanger?

…Yeah, it's a cliffhanger now. Anyway, Hit was here for Meruem, finds out Meruem is not Meruem, fights against Cuu for a while, informs Cuu of him being targeted and now…he gets an offer to be Supreme Kai?!
