40)Perfection? Not For Me: Ch.40

“I suppose all of you most likely know who I am, yes?” I began as I sat in the throne that Meruem used to sit in, the Inner Circle staring at me with frowns as Towa and Glorio stood at my sides.

“Lord Meruem did inform us of you when he revealed who he was.” Bonyu spoke with a nod and I nodded before looking at them all.

“Good, then I'm sure you all have questions.”

“Are you still Lord Meruem?” Cheelai asked and I frowned before giving a slow nod.

“I am Meruem, but Meruem is not me. He is a part of my soul given a consciousness that would help him function without me needing to control him.”

“I see. So, we were essentially working with a fragment of your true self.” Granolah muttered and I smiled while nodding.

“Something along those lines, yes. However, do not think of Meruem and myself as two different entities. We are one and the same even if he is no longer here.”

“Then, if I may be so bold to ask, what are you to us?” Paragus asked and I sighed before standing up.

“Truthfully, I am still your leader, but I am not at the same time. Just like Meruem said to you all, I still want to make this universe a better place, but I do not want to force you all to stay in the army if you only joined because Meruem asked you to.”

“You will not be getting rid of me that easily, my lord. Despite the fact that you are no longer Lord Meruem, the man that led me become who I am today still lives on inside of you.” Lemo spoke with a grin and I blinked at his response before looking to Garana and Bonyu as they smiled and nodded.

“What he said. You may not be the same being, but you are still the lord that came in our time of need when we needed it the most.”

“I am glad to hear it.” I spoke with a smile and a nod before turning to the others.

Broly made me nearly laugh as he just smiled and gave a thumbs-up, with Cheelai doing the same before Paragus smiled and nodded.

“You have my support, Lord…Uh, if I remember correctly, your name is Cell, yes my lord?” He asked and I chuckled while shaking my head.

“It was before I absorbed an ancient entity. Now, it is Majin Cuu or Lord Cuu or just Cuu if you want.”

“Then you have my support, Lord Cuu.”

“Mine as well.” Monaito spoke up and I was surprised at just how many of them were actually agreeing before turning to Granolah who frowned.

“Granolah?” The Namekian asked and I smiled as the Cerealian looked up at me with a look of contemplation.

“Do you need some time to think about it?” I asked with a look of amusement and he kept looking at me before shaking his head with a smirk.

“Yep, you're still as annoying as ever. I'm staying.”

“Wait, how was that annoying?”

“Don't ask. You just have that annoying smugness that Meruem had.”

“That's it! That's what felt the same!” Cheelai exclaimed with a smile and I blinked as they all agreed before slowly turning to Towa as I heard her giggle.

“Really? That's what you all agree upon.”

“And you even complain the same.” Paragus added and I rolled my eyes as the others nodded in agreement. Even Broly nodded from where he was seated and I just turned to Glorio who looked amused.

“See why I've been enjoying the Demon Realm so far?”

“Wait, you were in the Demon Realm?” Monaito asked with a look of surprise and I nodded before my eyes widened as I remembered what I wanted to do.

“I was, which brings me to this. Would everyone please sit still?” I said as tentacles grew out from my chest. Some of them looked a bit apprehensive as the tentacles touched their foreheads, but they were soon wide-eyed as information flooded their minds.

“Broly, Paragus, I just gave you two information on how to achieve Super Saiyan , Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan God if you want to do that. Monaito, Lemo and Cheelai, I gave you knowledge on the Namekian Language as well as various spells for your usage. Bonyu, Garana, I have given you two a few skills the divine beings known as the Supreme Kais use if you want to use them. As for you, Granolah, I have just given you the knowledge on god ki and a way to acquire it if you wish to.”

“…What?” Lemo asked with a shocked look and I chuckled before turning to Towa as she spoke up.

“Oh, you just love altering the timeline as much as you want, don't you?” She whispered before smiling amusedly when I shrugged.

“Hey, I have the capabilities to make the army stronger. Might as well use them.”

“That is true. However, what are you going to do now?” She asked and I hummed at that while watching as everyone were still processing their memories.

“For the most part, I am going to make sure that true peace truly does exist in the universe with the help of my army and allies. After that…eh, who knows? Life is full of surprises so I might as well wait for them to come to be.”

“Hmm, and what of your…legacy?” She asked with a teasing smile, which I matched as a chuckle escaped my lips.

“Who knows? We'll have to wait and see.”

“Cuu! Look at this gun Bulma gave me!” However, our flirting was cut short by the loud entrance of Panzy bursting through the door with an actual pistol in her hands. Towa just sighed at the interruption while I smirked as the others finally took note of her.

“Lord Cuu, what exactly have you been up to in the Demon Realm?” Paragus asked and I chuckled as I sat down.

“Why don't you all get seated and I'll start from the beginning?”

“Well, that was a rough day.” I muttered with a groan as I stretched my arms before turning to look at Glorio still lounging on the sofa in my office.

“You know you don't have to guard me all day? I'm still the strongest mortal in the universe.”

“Even the strongest can get taken down at the right time.” He answered without looking up from the book he was reading and I just snorted while looking out the balcony windows.

“Hah, would you have believed your future self if they went back to tell you that you'd be living the good life in the Outside World a year ago?”

“Not in the slightest. If anything, I would wonder what drug they are using to have such hallucinations.” He answered and I turned only to chuckle at his amused smile.

“I have to ask. How do you feel about your mother and I being in a relationship?”

“Firstly, not my mother.”

“Yeah, we can stop that part. No need to feel embarrassed about it.” I teased with a smile and he rolled his eyes before continuing.

“Secondly, I do not feel anything about it. If you two wish to get together, then you can get together. If you wish for this to be a simple fling, then let it be a fling. I do not mind either.”

“And what if a sibling is to be born?”

“Can you even do that?” He asked and I just smirked before shifting my appearance for a brief moment to Mira.

“I'm a Kai. It would be child's play.” I answered as I went to back to my Buu form and he hummed before nodding.

“Finally, if there is a child to be born from this union, I will not mind it just as I would not worry about it. At least Mother's attention will be focused on someone else other than myself.”

“You say that and yet, you still call her mother.” I spoke with a smirk and he looked at me. A second later, I smiled as he gave a soft chuckle and nodded.

“I suppose I am.”

“Very well. Then I guess I'll pursue this relationship and see how it goes.”

“Did you want to have this discussion just to see if I would approve?” He asked with an amused smile, which I returned with a shrug. Leaning back in my chair, I looked up at the ceiling and smiled as I felt Towa and Panzy's energy signatures together.

'Most likely working on a new experiment again…and there's Cheelai. Yep, definitely working on a new experiment.'

“Perhaps, but I also just wanted to have some bonding time.” I answered and he just hummed as he went to reading his book. A calm silence hung in the air as I looked out the balcony window, watching how the soldiers trained before an idea came to mind.

“Hey, you want to train?” I asked as I stood up, to which he looked up from his book with a raised eyebrow.

“Would you listen if I say no?”

“Not in the slightest. Come on, you'll get to try out your new cannon and I'll get in some exercise before I go talk to your mother.”

“Firstly, never tell me of what you're going to with her. Secondly, I have been looking for a target so thank you for volunteering.”

“Anytime. Now, where is your cannon?” I asked and he just smiled as he took out his dual pistols before smacking them into each other. My eyes widened as I watched both guns glow before they formed around his left arm in the form of a cannon.

“Bulma and Panzy gave your two pistols the capabilities to transform into a cannon?” I asked and he nodded with a smile as he walked out onto the balcony.

“A cannon with fifty different firing modes and bullets so let's go test them out.” He said as he began flying towards the training and I grinned as I followed after him.

'Holy shit, maybe I should ask Panzy if she can make me a spaceship that can shrink down to the size of a pea.'

“L-Lord Cuu!” The soldiers saluted in unison and I rolled my eyes at Glorio's amused smile before smiling at them.

“No need to salute, gentlemen! My…son and I are just here to train just like the rest of you men! Carry on with your duties and do not mind us!” I spoke and smiled as they all saluted while hesitantly going back to what they were doing.

“You realize they're going to keep looking, right?” Glorio said as he turned towards me and I nodded as I took a few steps back before clearing my throat.

“First blood or first to get knocked out?”

“First blood. I'd rather not have Mother fussing over my every wound again.” He answered and I gave an amused smile before nodding.

“Right. Go when you're re-!” Leaning to the side, the piercing beam of energy missed me and exploded upon impact against a mountain. I reoriented myself as Glorio rushed in, readying myself as I took note of the lightning coursing around his body.

A layer of ki surrounded my body as I lunged in, catching his punch before expanding my hand over the barrel of his cannon right as he aimed it at my head.

It was not an energy blast, though, and I winced at the vibrations that rippled through my core, quickly pulling my hand away while opening a hole in my chest as he aimed at it and shot a blast through the hole.

Cursing as he adjusted his barrel towards my head, I shook off the vibrations before sinking my torso into my legs. I swiftly created a face on top of my lower body and leapt upwards while twisting my body in on itself.

With a grunt, I recreated my upper body right as he shot at me, swallowing his ki blast whole and unravelling my legs to deliver a powerful kick to his side that sent him skidding into the distance.

However, he did not stay down for long as he aimed at my head, unleashing a flurry of fireballs that quickly faded away to reveal balls of gooey green webbing inside of them.

I quickly stretched my hand out and caught all of them before frowning as they burned my hand, simply compressing the flesh in upon itself while simultaneously healing and restoring my hand at the same time.

“Not bad. Acid?”

“That and a small neurotoxin, though I forgot about your healing capabilities.” He answered with a frown and I chuckled as I nodded before splitting myself into two.

“And this?” Glorio asked with a raised eyebrow and I smirked as other me just grinned while settling into the Turtle Hermit School stance.

“This is a clone with about a twentieth of my power. He should be equal to you now so I want you to beat him.”

“Think I can't?”

“Hahaha! No, I'm actually hoping that you win.” I answered and he frowned before both of them shot forward, cratering the ground with their shockwaves.

Seeing how neither was given any ground up, Glorio shot upwards and the clone was not too far behind, with me and the rest of the army watching as the two clashed over and over in the air.

'Well, now I can actually see what he's miss-What's that?' I thought with a frown as I took my attention away from the battle, spreading my ki sensing across the planet itself.

'Was…Was I just imagining that? No, I couldn't have.' For a brief second there, I had felt a power that was nearly equal to Towa's, but that would also be impossible considering that there should not be someone at her level on this planet.

Looking for Towa's energy, I found it still next to Panzy's and Broly and Granolah were busy training with Paragus and Garana so that ruled them out.

It wasn't Goku or any of the Z-Fighters considering that even the strongest of them were only half as strong as the Demoness so that led me to one conclusion.

'Another enemy right as I was beginning to relax. Of course.' I thought with a sigh as I turned away from the battle, taking a deep breath before pulling on one of Neva's and the Grand Supreme Kai's spells.

“Kai Kai Alar (Supreme Deity's Sight). Puputara Popori Anari (Grant Me Your Sight, o Divine Planet).” The world around me faded away as I began to stare at the potent natural ki of the planet around us.

My eyes and mind easily sifted through the ki and energy of everyone in the army as well as the few beings from the other species that Meruem have memorized.

Within minutes of searching, I frowned as I caught sight of a new energy appearing on my senses, watching as it slowly approached me in broad daylight.

'You've got a lot of nerve doing that.' I thought with a frown before I turned as I felt another one appearing to my left, grimacing as more and more popped up until I was surrounded by dozens of different ki signatures.

Yet, as I opened my eyes, my frown deepened as I saw nothing but frozen air around me, looking around before sighing as I heard a voice speaking behind me.

“Are you Meruem?”

“Of course, it's you. I'm guessing this is one final attempt at killing me by Cooler from the grave?” I asked as I turned around, staring at the purple-skinned assassin in his black trenchcoat with his hands in his pockets.

“I'll ask once again. Are you Meruem?”

“I am, Hit the Assassin.” I answered and Hit simply nodded before taking a hand from his pocket, leaving me to watch as ki gathered at his hand.

The next, I vanished and appeared in front of his still form with a fist pulled back, punching right through it only to frown as the world around me cracked and shattered.

“My lord!” The soldiers finally noticed what was happening and in the blink of an eye, Hit was surrounded from all sides by foot soldiers as well as the Inner Circle that I teleported to me with a frown.

“Who the hell is this?” Cheelai asked with a frown and her guns pointed, the others already in their combat stances while I held a hand up to stop Towa from attacking.

“Everyone, this is Hit the Legendary Assassin. Hit, this is the Imperial Empire, the strongest fighting force for good in Universe 7. Now, I'm going to ask of you to leave and we'll let bygones be bygones.”

“We both know I can't do that.” He answered and I sighed before nodding, the world around us cracking as he punched forward only for his eyes to widen as I took the blow without flinching.

“I was hoping to spare your life, you know? Do my good deed for the day.” I muttered as I began walking past my frozen army, Towa following besides me with a smile of sadistic anticipation.

Seeing the realization settling on Hit's face, I had to respect the guy for not begging for his life as he simply dropped his trenchcoat and settled into a stance before I smiled.

“Well, I suppose there's always helping the kids train. Now, ready yourself, assassin. I am what stands between you and life.”

A/N: And we end on a cliffhanger~!! Looks like Baby Cooler was not a dumb-ass as he thought of calling an assassin, but unfortunately for him, Hit may have taken the wrong job.
