My Dad Is The Strongest?: Ch.13

“You know, I did say that I wanted to be your maid…but is this necessary?” Mai asked with a frown as she walked besides Killua, dressed in a black formal suit with an oval-shaped metallic plate stitched onto her jacket that had a dark blue sapphire embedded onto it.

“Of course. We couldn't find you a French maid uniform so we'll have to settle for this to help you look the part.”

“You put me in a French maid outfit and I'm dragging my ass back to the Zen'in Clan.” Mai spoke with a huff and Killua rolled his eyes before shrugging.

“Eh, I think you'd look good in it, but I guess if you don't want to…”

“I don't.” Mai answered curtly and Killua grumbled as he childishly crossed his arms.

“Why not? I think you'd look good in it.”

“I'd rather dive off of a building.”

“Fine~! I guess you can wear that.”

“Only for the time that we are here…Where is here, exactly?” She asked as they came to a stop, Killua simply humming as he looked at the playground they were at.

Taking a deep breath as he felt the itching feeling of cursed energy in the air growing stronger, the boy watched as a hand crawled out from the ground before a decaying demon crawled out.

K-Kill…Kill…them…” The demon growled as its one eye glared at them, his horns shaved off at the tip and blood dripping from the wounds around its arms as Mai raised an eyebrow.

“Feels like a…Semi-Grade 1?”

“Close. It's just barely over the line to be a Grade 1.” Killua answered as he raised his right hand, his index and middle-fingers extended while his other fingers were curled in.

Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure.”

“Is a Curtain necessary considering how fast this is going to be?” Mai asked with a raised eyebrow and Killua shrugged as sparks rippled around his body, the sky turning dark as the Curtain slowly fell down around the playground.

“It isn't, but I'd rather keep every non-sorcerer out just in case of emergencies.” Killua answered as he rolled his shoulders, watching as the demon slammed his fists onto the ground before it shot across the playground with a roar.

The next, the boy came to a sliding stop behind the spirit right as it charged past, Mai not even looking phased as the spirit rushed towards her before its body was sliced into chunks the moment it touched her.

“It's a good thing your attacks also burned its wounds shut or else I would be pissed about blood getting into my hair.” Mai spoke with a frown as she dusted off her shoulder.

Killua simply rolled her eyes as he walked over to Mai, the Curtain fading away as the spirit's body crumbled into motes of light that faded away.

“Eh, I would have just burned off the blood, then.”

“And what if you burn my hair?” Mai asked with a raised eyebrow before rolling her eyes as Killua smirked and patted her shoulder as he walked past.

“Then, you could see it as a training exercise where you struggle to try and catch me.”

“I hate you.” She grumbled and Killua laughed as the two continued walking towards the next train back to Kyoto.

“No, you don't.”

“…I still do.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see you two took a little long to finish that Grade 1 case.” Mechamaru spoke as Killua and Mai walked into the classroom and Mai snorted as the two sat down next to Miwa.

“If Killua didn't want to take a few hours to do shopping, we would have been here three hours ago.”

“Hey, they had a sale on some good chocolate and as a chocolate connoisseur, I must sample each one to make sure they live up to my standards.”

“You really don't act like your age, huh? I have two brothers your age, but they're a lot more hyperactive than this.” Miwa spoke with a smile and Killua shrugged before giving a shameless shrug as he rested his feet on his desk.

“What can I say? I'm well-disciplined.”

“You mean arrogant.”

“Arrogance is just confidence in disguise.” Killua replied smoothly and couldn't help his snickering at Mai's flat look before looking at Mechamaru as he saw the puppet looking forward.

“You got something on your mind, Mecha?”

Simply thinking of my last mission.” The robotic puppet responded and Killua kept his gaze on him before nodding slowly.

“Ah, right. The Grade 1 case, right? Was it a hard one?” Miwa asked and the robot-puppet shook his head before responding.

It was a bit difficult, but nothing most can't do. I'm just thinking on the outbreak of cursed spirit ranked Semi-Grade 1 or above in the past six months.”

“That's at the same time that Killua joined us.” Mai chimed in and Killua raised an eyebrow while crossing his arms.

“Are you implying I had something to do with all of this?”

“ 'Might attracts might', right? Maybe because you're a Special Grade, the universe decided to increase the strength of all spirits that appeared when you did.” Miwa chimed in and Killua frowned slightly before giving a slow nod.

“Normally, I wouldn't believe that theory, but the spirits have gotten a bit stronger since last year.”

It's not just the strength of the spirits. The rise in cursed energy users, the potency of cursed energy around hotspots…It's too coincidental. It's as if…there's someone or something triggering this shift.”

“Yeah, something feels off about this.” Mai added as she crossed her arms and Killua's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at her.

“You guys think someone is pulling the strings.”

That could be the case or it could be the product of something bigger, like a catastrophe or an apocalypse that is coming. This is all just vague theories I've been having, but it's worth paying attention to.

“W-Well, whatever the cause, we'll all deal with it, right?” Miwa spoke with a smile and Mechamaru simply nodded as Killua smirked and Mai shrugged.

“That sounds like your problem to be honest.”

“You're enjoying this 'maid' thing way too much, aren't you?” Miwa spoke with a deadpan stare and Mai looked smug as she nodded.

“Yep~ All I gotta do is accompany the nuclear warhead in the shape of a 10 year old arrogant kid here and that's my work done for the day.”

“You make it sound like I'm a menace to society.” Killua spoke with a raised eyebrow and Mai just smirked as she nodded.

“You are.”

“…I am, but that still doesn't make it right.”

“Of course, it does. You annoy me on missions so I annoy you at home.”

“You know, you two are like a cute brother- sister duo.” Miwa said with a giggle and Mechamaru nodded as the two in question looked at each other before shaking their heads.

“Nope, don't see it./ We're more of a functional business relationship.” Killua and Mai answered respectively and Miwa rolled her eyes before they turned as the door opened.

“Ah, I see everyone's already back from their missions. Did you have any problems?” Utahime asked with a kind smile as she walked in and smiled as they all shook their heads.

“Wonderful! Well, listen up because I have a very important announcement. With the unfortunate passing of the 3rd Years at the beginning of the year and with us only having three 2nd Years, the principal have deemed it necessary for us to get one more person to fill the spot.”

And that person is Killua?”

“It could be anyone.” Killua responded after Mechamaru did before shaking his head with a sigh as everyone just raised an eyebrow at him.

“Right, stupid response.”

“Back to the previous discussion, that does include Killua, but none of you should feel left out as we will be allowing a small group of family members and students to watch the Goodwill Event this year.”

“Is this to help us prepare for next year?” Miwa asked with a hand raised and Utahime smiled as she nodded.

“Indeed it is. Killua, be sure to be very wary of your opponents as this test is not just one about brute strength. It will most definitely require some strategic elements and it will be a mixed-level event, meaning you may be facing against new 1st Years to experienced 3rd Years. Do not underestimate a single foe.”

'Oh, I won't.' Killua's assassin mindset was already creeping in as Utahime spoke and the boy couldn't help his excitement at the fact that he was about to face off against new foes.

“Oh, before I forget, these are who you are going to be facing off against as well as who is going to be participating from Kyoto.” Utahime said as she walked over to Killua's desk while taking a page from her kimono, placing it down in front of the boy and stepping back with an amused smile as she saw her other students trying to lean in.

'Todo, Noritoshi and Momo are to be expected and it looks like it's just us four. From Tokyo, it's Shizuka Hoshimiya and Daichi Furuhashi for the 3rd Years, only a Kinji Hakari for the 2nd Years and…Oh? Yuta Okkotsu for the 1st Years? Looks like there's another prodigy after all.'

“A 1st Year and he's a Special Grade?…That your brother or something?” Mai asked as she looked at Killua who hummed as he shook his head while looking at Utahime.

“I'm guessing he's like me?”

“A prodigy? That's what most of his teachers are saying. He's only been a sorcerer for four months, but from what I hear, he is very skilled with cursed energy manipulation.”

“Sounds like you got some competition.” Miwa said as she nudged Killua's side, the white-haired boy looking at the name before nodding slowly with a smirk.

His dad had Geto and it looks like he found his.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“You okay?” Momo asked as they ascended the stairs and the boy looked at the concerned look on her face before nodding with a smile.

“Yeah, just feeling a bit excited about the battles lying ahead.”

“So am I. Even though this is simply a friendly event between our two schools, I can't help but wonder just how strong our Tokyo counterparts truly are.” Todo spoke with a grin and Killua rolled his eyes as Noritoshi hummed.

“Todo speaks the truth. While this is a friendly event, the underlying seriousness of this event must be ignored as this will decide who is the stronger of the two schools for the coming sorcerer year.”

“So…win?” Killua asked and smirked as Noritoshi looked at him with a subtle smirk before nodding.

“Win.” The moment he finished, they caught sight of the sorcerers that they would be facing off against, his senses immediately ignoring the other two sorcerers as he focused on the other two Tokyo sorcerers standing at the background.

The first was a tall and well-built guy, his skin having a light tan to it with his black hair styled into twisted dreadlocks and his magenta-coloured eyes focused on Killua as an amused smile was on his face.

Killua did pay attention to the fact that the guy wore a white tank top under his Jujutsu High jacket along with a pair of jeans and red Jordans, but he then focused on the student's cursed energy.

To his surprise, it was only on the level of that of Todo along with having this rough, coarse feeling to it, but the boy couldn't help but wonder what kind of technique the guy had for his senses to be wary of him.

However, it was the second guy and most likely the 1st Year that made Killua wary as he glanced at the teenager, whose dark blue eyes were nervously glancing at everyone while his black hair was slightly dishevelled.

Dressed in a loose white jacket with the sleeves stopping at his forearm, slender black pants tucked into white sneakers and a katana case on his back, the guy was the epitome of anxiety and Killua frowned as he saw the slight dark circles under his eyes.

Yet despite all of that, the boy was still in awe at the sheer amount of cursed energy radiating from the teenager's body, Killua unable to even feel the beginning nor the end of it as it felt nigh-infinite.

'Looks like this might not be as easy as I thought.' Killua thought with a hum as he stopped besides Momo, the four Kyoto students looking at the four Tokyo students before one of the 3rd Years spoke up.

“So, you guys are our opponents?” The guy with black hair and dark brown eyes asked with a frown as he crossed his arms, being a bit shorter than Hakari and a slim build as Noritoshi nodded.

“It would seem so.”

“Firstly, we wish to give our condolences for the passing of your third year students. It's not everyday we hear that people we experienced battles with passed away just like that.” The only other girl of their group spoke with a soft smile as she bowed her head.

Killua watched as the other 3rd Year and Yuta did the same before raising an eyebrow as Hakari did not, looking at the teenager as he looked back and smirked.

'Ah, I see. He's the kind that only cares for themselves and what they like. …I can't see the fault for a guy like that.'

“We thank you and we hope that we can live up to the expectations you had of them.” Momo said with a smile and the group nodded before Killua turned with a smile as he heard a familiar voice speaking up.

“Hey~ You kids met up already and there's not a fight. That's a big upgrade from the previous years.”

“You sound like you're the one starting the fights.” Killua responded with a smile as he walked towards his dad, who gave a sly grin before shrugging.

“I might have been.”

“How have you been, Dad?”

“Eh, just visiting the hospital. I hear you've been there a few times yourself.”

“Yeah, wanted to see if she would wake up, but she never did.” Killua muttered with a sigh and Satoru nodded before looking up as Yuta spoke.

“U-Uh, Gojo-sensei? W-Why is he calling you dad?”

“That's usually what a son calls his father, right?” Killua spoke with a smirk, Yuta's eyes widening as he looked to his teacher who grinned and placed a hand on Killua's shoulder.

“Those of Kyoto already know, but for you guys from Tokyo, this is Killua Gojo, my son and heir to the Gojo Clan.”

“…Just what woman gave you a chance?” Hakari asked with a smirk and Satoru rolled his eyes as Killua grinned.

“My mom, but she says he was a bit of scaredy-cat when they first did it.”

“Oi, no need to tell my secrets for all to hear.”

“Don't worry, sensei. You're still cool to us.” The guy of the 3rd Years spoke with a smile and Satoru grinned as he gave a double thumbs-up.

“Knew I could count on you, Daichi!”

'That would make the other one Shizuka.' Killua thought with a hum as he stood besides his dad with his arms crossed, Satoru's grin quickly growing as he heard a familiar exasperated voice speaking from behind the Kyoto students.

“Must you be so loud so early in the morning?” Utahime asked with a raised eyebrow as she walked up the steps, to which Satoru simply shrugged as the principals walked down from the steps leading up to the main office.

“It appears everyone has been introduced to each other. Are you all ready for the battles to come?” A tall man with a muscular frame asked as he looked at them from behind sunglasses, dressed in a white dress shirt underneath his black Jujutsu jacket with matching pants and shoes.

“As ready as we can be.” Noritoshi spoke up as Killua walked over, the two groups staring at Principal Masamichi as he frowned before nodding.

“Then I hereby declare the start of the 2017 Kyoto-Tokyo Goodwill Event!”

A/N: Another short chapter but this time, we kick off the Goodwill Event/ Tournament.

As you all can see, I added two new characters to keep it somewhat even between the two groups and Kirara has decided to stay out of this fight.

Anyway, next chapter is going to be Day 1: Dodge!!

As always, read, enjoy, review and until the next one…

Ba-Bye~!!
