My Dad Is the Strongest?: Ch.3
Added 2025-01-10 21:33:54 +0000 UTCShoko Ieiri frowned as she walked towards the one soaphouse in the entirety of Kyoto, having just taken a three hour train from Tokyo after pulling an all-nighter for three nights straight.
Today was supposed to be her off-day, but when she got a call from an old friend she had not visited in a while with a panicked tone in her voice while talking about 'cursed spirits', Shoko wanted to make sure she raced over as soon as possible.
However, one can imagine her surprise when she found out that her friend had a young boy that just turned seven years old not too long ago.
While Hina didn't exactly say if she knew the father or not, Shoko also knew of a certain white-haired dumbass that slept with Hina for a month straight seven years ago before he shut off every connection he had to the place.
She had never seen Satoru spending as much money as he did that day when he paid off nearly every single person in Downtown Kyoto to swear on their lives that they never met him and while most were completely bewildered at his request, they were also not dumb enough to just reject that level of cash.
'And then he goes on to raise the child of another man while trying his best to hide his own.' Even she couldn't believe that he was capable of that, but then again, she has seen how much the idiot had descended into madness right before he met Hina and then met Megumi.
“Ms. Shoko! Over here!”, Shoko snapped from her thoughts as she finally caught sight of the Downtown Kyoto Soaplands, smiling as she saw a few of the girls she used to 'play' with waving at her.
“However, her smile fell and a frown took its place as she saw the panic and concern on their faces, putting a bit of extra speed in her step as she walked briskly towards them.
“Talk and walk.”, she said as she walked past them towards the entrance, surprising two of the girls while the third nodded as they quickly followed after her.
“What happened?”
“We don't know. Killua was hanging out with his friend in the alleyway behind the soaphouse, but then we heard some explosions. We then checked the back to see what was happening before we found Killua out cold on the floor with his friend having been…well, you'll see.”, the girl walking besides her said and Shoko hummed as they walked out through the soaphouse and out the back.
Now, Shoko was used to the pressure that came from monstrous levels of cursed energy enveloping her as she had to live with someone that had that level and potency of cursed energy for four years straight.
However, as she walked out into the alleyway, she froze in her steps for a brief moment as she felt a spark racing up her spine, the acrid stench that came from lightning striking the ground wafting into her nostrils while it felt as if a young Satoru was just letting his cursed energy run freely.
The next moment, her body had accumulated to the energy and she frowned as she stared at the disembowelled corpse lying in two different places in the alleyway.
The boy's top half was lying face up a few meters away with a blanket covering his exposed intestines while his bottom half was lying against the outdoor bin with his legs over the lid.
'A quick and merciful death. The spirit wanted to eat him, but it was killed before it could. Most likely, it was Hina's kid who did it.' Shoko thought with a frown as she looked at where Hina was kneeling on the floor, right next to a young boy with a strained look on his face while sparks of electricity sprung from his body onto the floor.
“Hina,” Shoko's words drew the woman from her concerned gaze as she looked up before a relieved and thankful smile grew on her face as she saw her friend walking closer with a smile.
“Shoko, thank you for coming.”
“It's of no concern. Now, I'm going to have to check out if there's something wrong, if that's okay?”
“Please, just…just make sure he's okay”, Hina asked with a pleading look and Shoko smiled as she nodded and patted her friend on the shoulder, walking closer before kneeling down next to Killua.
Calling upon her cursed energy, a glowing white aura surrounded her hand as she placed it on Killua's chest, fuelling it through his body to begin restoring his wounds while frowning as she took note of the damage he had sustained.
'Bruising on the neck and upper chest means that the spirit most likely pinned him with a chokehold at one point. That along with the cracked wall over there means that he was most likely slammed back first into the wall by the spirit. However, the fact that he's not dead and the slight electrical burns show that he had unlocked his cursed energy and his technique through intense anger with hints of fear as well.'
“Is…is he going to be okay?”, Hina asked as she knelt next to Shoko and the woman smiled as she finished healing the last of his wounds and nodded.
“Yeah, just give him a few hours to sleep and he'll be okay. Now, what happened?”
“Like she said, we don't know. All I know is that Killua wanted Ippo to meet us and then they wanted to go out to eat. However, there was this loud noise and when we came out, this was the scene that greeted us”, Hina answered and Shoko frowned as she walked over to where the Ippo boy's corpse was lying.
Shoko could see residuals of Killua's and the spirit's cursed energy attached to the area around them, but she was more focused on the slight fragment of residual attached to the boy himself.
'That belongs to someone else. Someone that is very skilled in hiding their cursed energy as well as how to make it into a lure for weaker cursed spirits', she thought with a frown as she felt the energy fading away, standing back up before she shook her head as she turned to Hina.
“Make sure you put him in a room that no one uses to make sure no one can disturb his rest. I'll be back tomorrow if he does wake up just in case to make sure that everything's okay.”
“I will. Thank you, Shoko”, Hina said with a bow and Shoko smiled as she nodded before following the girls out towards the exit, taking one last glance at Hina gingerly picking Killua up before shaking her head as she took out a phone and called one of the most important numbers saved to it.”
“Clan Head Gojo, this is Satoru's friend Shoko. Yeah, has he told you the news? No? Yeah, I figured. Hah, you better strap in because this is going to be very shocking.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pain.
That was the first thing Killua felt as his consciousness returned, taking a few deep breaths and wincing with each one as he slowly opened his eyes.
'Pain was good. Pain means I'm still alive', Killua thought to himself as he looked at the dark pink ceiling above him, recognizing it to be the ceiling of the old Pink Pleasure Room as he sat up.
Raising his arms, he frowned as he felt his body recovering faster than normal, but as he stretched his arms behind him, he could also feel his body growing a bit tired with each movement.
“This feels like Nen”, He muttered softly to himself as he felt the new energy burning in his chest, grasping it and frowning at how much more chaotic it was compared to the Nen that he knew.
However, if it was like Nen, then perhaps he could manipulate it through the same principles that he learned when he was training his Nen.
'First is Ten', Killua thought with a frown as he took a deep breath, pulling on the memories of what Wing taught them as he grasped the ambient energy flooding out of him before slowly closing the gates.
The room was filled with nothing but periodic and precise breathing as Killua breathed in and out, feeling the chaotic energy calming down as he slowly but sure tamed the energy and slowed the ambient cursed energy flowing out to a mere minimal.
“This is a lot…weirder than Nen.” Unlike Nen which makes it feel as if one is surrounded by a lukewarm viscous liquid, this other energy makes it feel as if he was standing in the middle of a thunderstorm and being hit by one lightning bolt after the other.
It wasn't hurting him at all, but instead, he could feel his body being energized the more and more his body was hit by the lightning until the final lightning bolt hit his body and sent a rush of energy through his body.
Opening his eyes, Killua smirked as he stretched his body from side to side, pushing himself out of the circle bed he was on while stretching his legs out to the side.
“Huh? Uh, I did not expect you to already be awake”, Killua blinked as he heard a voice speaking up, looking up at the open door to stare in surprise at the woman with long brown hair a lab coat that looked to be a few years younger than his mom.
However, he was just as happy to see his mom walking in as she was to see him up on his feet, hugging her around the neck as she wrapped him up in a tight hug while layering kisses on his face.
“You're okay. You're okay, sweetie. It's all okay.” Killua knew that he didn't exactly need it, but he quite loved when his new mom peppered him with loving kisses as it was much more fun than the cold nods his old mom gave me.
That and he did realize that she was more talking to herself than she was to him, so he let her do that and simply hugged her tight before she pulled back and he saw the sad look on her face.
“Killua, it's…it's about your friend Ippo”, She began and Killua's eyes widened before he frowned as he remembered the state that his friend was in before he passed out, knowing that there was no way someone even with Nen would be able to survive that let alone a normal kid.
“He didn't make it…did he?” He muttered and Hina sighed as she shook her head, Killua looking up as the woman in the lab coat spoke up.
“I tried my best, but unfortunately, it was too late for me to do anything of significance to heal him. All I could do was make sure that the cursed energy on his remains was gone so no cursed spirit would try and desecrate his corpse”, Killua frowned a bit as he felt as if the woman wasn't exactly telling him everything, but he still gave her a thankful smile and nodded as his mom stood up and besides him.
“That's more than you needed to do. Thank you, miss.”
“My name's Shoko Ieiri, kid, and I'm a special friend of your mom's and also your dad's. Would you want to me-!”
“Nah.” Killua's answer was simple and blunt, surprising both his mom and Shoko as she blinked before responding.
“Nah?”
“Nah, if he wants to meet me, he has to come here himself. I don't mind if he wants to hang out or catch up, but he has to realize that I have no need for a dad.”
'Especially since my mom along with my 'sisters' were the ones who raised me so I don't feel the need for a father..' Killua thought to himself as he looked at the slightly shocked look on Shoko's face before the woman sighed and nodded.
“Of course, I guess I'll ask the idiot if he wants to come or not. What of your paternal grandfather? Would you feel like having a meeting with him?”
“Wait, I have a grandfather?” That was a first to Killua, but then again, he knew how tough his old grandfather was and with this new Nen-like energy, it would make sense that both his father and grandfather most definitely had it as well.
“You do. He's a very traditional guy that's stuck in the old ways of his clan, but he has mellowed out over the years and seems to want to meet you too.”
“Uh…”
“If you want, you can tell him to wait for a bit until you're ready to meet him.” Hina proposed and Killua frowned slightly before Shoko smiled as he nodded.
“That sounds like the best idea here, especially since I don't know him or what he wants.”
“He just wants to meet his estranged grandson that he hasn't heard about at all.”
“Ah, then tell him that I'll have to process that I have a grandfather before I can meet him.” Killua knew he was making up excuses, but he really didn't want to meet up with an old man right now and he was sure Shoko knew as she simply looked amused and nodded.
“Of course. Now, I couldn't help but notice that your cursed energy flow is far more…calm than before. Care to explain that?” Shoko asked and Killua shrugged as he crossed his arms.
“I just figured it out.”
“You just…you just figured it out?” Shoko had to make sure she heard that right and looked at the grinning Killua before giving Hina an exasperated look while she simply looked amused.
“Right. I forgot who your dad is.”
“Is he someone strong?”
“More like the Strongest Sorcerer of The Modern Era”, Shoko said and Killua frowned a bit as he heard the title.
"Strongest...Sorcerer?"
"If you want, I can come around a few times with books on what I mean. That way, you can read on your own and not have to worry about following my explanation?", Shoko proposed with a smirk and Killua looked happy at the news as he nodded.
After all, there had to be some connection with the spirits, his dad and the new energy he had.
'Also, the strongest of them all? Huh, guess I can give the guy more credit than needed if that's how everyone views him.'
“Cool. Mom, do you think we could go and see Ippo's dad about what happened?”
“Of course, sweetheart”, Hina said with a soft smile and Killua nodded before giving Shoko a wave as he walked over to the bathroom attached to the room.
“You think that he's suppressing trauma?”, Hina asked as they watched him leave the room and Shoko sighed as she crossed her arms while looking at where the boy had left the room.
“Fortunately, no. He doesn't seem to be showing the usual symptoms as well as the more rare ones. However, just because he seems normal doesn't mean that he's not affected. Therefore, I must ask that you check on him once a day just to make sure that there's nothing he's trying to hide.”
“Will do. I have to ask, though. Does….does Satoru really want to meet him?”, Hina asked with a raised eyebrow before snorting as she saw the hesitant and unsure look on Shoko's face.
“That's all I needed to know. Once again, thank you, Shoko”, Hina said as she hugged her and Shoko nodded with a smile as she hugged her back.
“It was my pleasure.”
A/N: Brutally honest, the beer is sinking away and my energy is going with it.
Therefore, I'm going to make this a short one just to end off the first Arc: Thunder Reborn.
Next chapter is going to be a time-skip a year or two later and Killua's first real battle.
Anyway, as always, read, enjoy, review and until the next one…
Ba-Bye~!!
