The air shook as Chad shadow-boxed while rapidly moving around, Jackie humming as she watched him moving at a blistering pace around the room.

‘That armour of his is definitely boosting his physical capabilities along with giving him some kind of defensive aspect in a fight. That’s not mentioning the fact that his ability is a Clad-Type, which is a rare thing for Fullbringers.’ She thought with a frown as Chad dodged to the side while feinting a right jab, delivering a swift barrage of jabs with his left hand before his right hand came up with a vicious uppercut that made the air pop.

“To be truthful, I didn’t think you’d unlock your ability after one session.” Chad stopped his ‘training’ as he heard Kūgo speak, looking over at the man to see him watching him test out his ability while sitting at the bar next to Jackie.

“I didn’t either. So, what’s the next thing I need to do?”

“Rest.” Everyone answered in unison with amused looks, Chad looking a bit surprised & confused as he looked at Kūgo who chuckled before nodding.

“They’re right. Unlocking your ability for the first time leads to some…painful consequences when you dismiss it. Therefore, I’d advise you go back home and make sure you’re on a bed before you dismiss it unless you want to wake up on the floor with a bump or two on your head. Take it easy for the week and get used to your new abilities or rest to give yourself energy for our next training session.”

“Come on, I’ll make sure you make it out!” Riruka spoke as she stood up, Chad nodding goodbye at everyone before following after as Tsukishima & Kūgo looked at each other before walking around the bar & through the door behind it.

Walking towards the one lavish desk that was the only thing in the middle of the room along with a large map of both Karakura Town & Naruki City, Tsukishima watched as Kūgo sat down on the chair behind the desk before sitting down on one of the two chairs in front of it.

“And?” Kūgo asked, waiting as Tsukishima crossed his arms before smirking as the man nodded.

“He has potential. While his usage & control over Fullbring is a bit sloppy, the fact that he could actually use it before we could tell him about it is quite impressive and that’s not mentioning that he unlocked his ability with ease compared to the number of times we struggled to do so.” He answered, Kūgo humming as he nodded in agreement.

“That’s true and when you realize that he has only been spiritually-aware for just a few weeks considering how little control he had over the excess spiritual energy leaking from his body with each attack, it makes me wonder just how strong he can get with the right training.”

“It is a shame he’s not the Substitute Shinigami you sensed in Karakura, but I suppose we can patiently for our chance to get him.” Tsukishima spoke as he remembered Kūgo’s words from a month ago of how he had sensed a human soul transforming into that of a Shinigami’s, to which the man in front of him nodded before looking up at his friend.

“Did you at least use Book of the End to make sure he wouldn’t betray us?” Kūgo asked before frowning as Tsukishima looked a bit hesitant &…nervous?

“I tried to.”

“What do you mean you tried to? I thought nothing could counter your ability.” Kūgo asked as his frown deepened, Tsukishima sighing as he nodded.

“I thought so too, but when I tried to make a past in his mind where we knew each other, it was…destroyed.”

“…Destroyed?” Kūgo asked with a slow blink, his eyes widening as Tsukishima looked at him & nodded.

“Destroyed. It was as if there was something inside of him that…rejected the past, as if it never was supposed to happen. That’s not all. You know how Fullbringers have a slight Hollow taint to our reiatsu, right?”

“Because of our mothers being attacked by Hollows. What does that have to do with this?” Kūgo asked with a raised eyebrow before freezing as Tsukishima looked at him with a serious look in his eyes.

“His reiatsu is half-human, half Hollow. As far as we’re concerned, he’s a hybrid.”

“…Well, shit.”

“So…” Riruka trailed off as she & Chad made their way down the stairs, making the teen look up from his arm to see the hesitant look on her face.

“Yes?” He asked, waiting patiently as she hesitated a few times before taking a deep breath and speaking.

“This doesn’t…change anything between us, right?”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Well, you’re not mad at me for the dollhouse, right?” She asked, a bit nervous as Chad looked at her before a relieved sigh escaped her lips as Chad smiled & shook his head.

“No, I’m not. While I was a bit upset at you not warning me about it, it went away when I got…this.” Chad spoke while waving his right arm, to which Riruka giggled before they stopped as they exited the apartment complex.

“Remember, no fighting and you head home instantly or else, you’re going to regret it.”

“I will. How…how painful will it be when I actually dismiss it?” Chad asked while glancing at his arm, Riruka raising an eyebrow before a teasing smirk appeared on her face as she saw the slight nervousness in his eyes.

“My, my. Are you perhaps…scared?”

“Considering that Kūgo described it as a painful experience, I am.” He answered and she burst out with giggles, making him sigh as she slowly shook her head.

“D-Don’t worry. It is very painful, but it will only be for a moment before you pass out, though, I have to admit that since none of us have Clad-Type abilities, it might be easier or more painful for you.”

“So, a gamble? Hah, I’m not surprised to hear that.” Chad muttered with a shake of his head as he started walking, Riruka smiling before she blinked as he stopped & turned to her.

“Thank you for the…invitation and helping me find out about all this.”

“My pleasure. Just be glad that it was me and not Jackie.”

“Yeah, I didn’t want to get greeted by a kick to my chest.” Chad spoke with a smirk, Riruka smiling as she nodded before the two stood in silence.

“…Well, I got to get back up or else they’re going to come looking for me.”

“Same here. I don’t have much more in me to keep up my ability.”

“Then, I’ll see you at class tomorrow, Mr. Sado.”

“Same to you, Ms. Dokugamine.”

“Call me Riruka.” She spoke as Chad turned around, to which he blinked before nodding as a light green glow covered his body.

“Then, call me Chad. Good night, Riruka.” Chad greeted with a final smile before vanishing with a lunge, Riruka rolling her eyes as she watched a green streak of light racing out of her view within under a minute before turning around to walk back in.

“Show-off.”

“Hah…hah…almost…there…” Chad was gasping for breath as he opened his door, already feeling his body developing a fever and sweat pouring down his body as he was forcing himself to keep his Brazo activated.

He had thought so many times to just dismiss his ability and then try to make it back home through the pain, but when everyone was warning him to keep it activated, he decided that it would be best to fight through exhaustion than through pain.

Locking the door behind him, Chad took that first step towards his room before his body decided that it had enough as he collapsed to the floor, the teen watching as the armour around his arm shattered before his eyes widened as a scorching pain erupted through his body.

It felt as if every fluid inside his body had gone from cool to boiling and he couldn’t even scream as it felt as if his own spiritual energy was trying to choke him.

‘Wha…’ Chad was barely able to make out the end of the screen out before he felt the pain becoming blinding, his body immediately shutting down as he passed out on the floor.

“What happened to you?” Ichigo asked with wide eyes as he finally noticed Chad waiting for him, surprised to see his friend’s slumped shoulders as well as the exhausted look in his eyes.

“Met the guys I told you about. Then, we trained…and I got home tired.”

“You know, you can take a break or two for the day.” Ichigo spoke and Chad snorted as they started walking towards school.

“That would just let the other thugs catch you off-guard, which means I have to go rescue you again.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Ichigo spoke with a dismissive wave of his hand, Chad smirking as he turned back to what he was looking at before Ichigo arrived.

He was very surprised when he woke up this morning to the message the system showed him last night while he was in pain, but he was even more surprised when he opened his status & saw the drastic changes made to the system.

He was surprised when he read the race section only to found that was now something called a Fullbringer (Hollow-Hybrid) instead of just a Human (Fullbringer)

His stats having grown significantly made him a bit happy and Bringer Light & Spiritual Fist having fused together to form the skill Fullbringer was quite the surprising treat as well along with Spiritual Sense now being an actual skill.

Unfortunately, the joy ended there and was replaced by confusion & nerves by one line in the screen that appeared last night.

Chad didn’t know whether to be excited at a way to get stronger & better help Ichigo with his work or be nervous since it seemed as if the system wanted to force him to actively absorb Hollow souls instead of just sending them away.

The part of purifying at the end did make him consider it, but he decided that the best thing to do was just wait until he confronted a Hollow to test it out.

If it was bad, he’d stop instantly and get stronger through simple training & hard work even if it meant that he couldn’t get as strong as he needed to be.

“Hey, there’s still an hour left before glasses so you wanna take down a Hollow or two?” Chad blinked as he heard Ichigo’s voice, looking down at his friend to see him smirking in anticipation while holding up an orange gumball.

“Fine. The one who takes out the most Hollows gets free lunch?” Chad proposed as a light green aura covered his body, Ichigo grinning as he downed the candy & his soul shot out of his body.

“Oh, you’re on.” He spoke before rocketing away, Chad watching as his friend raced away before looking besides him to see Ichigo’s body smirking at him.

“You better go, big guy, before he gets too far.”

“…That is weird. Could you take this to my desk as well?” Chad asked while holding out his bag, smirking as the soul in Ichigo’s body rolled his eyes while taking the bag.

“Sure, I’m just the butler like usual.” The soul grumbled, making Chad chuckle as he cracked his neck before lunging forward, racing through the streets while his Spiritual Sense kept track of Ichigo’s location through his eyes.

It didn’t take him long to find the first Hollow and with an easy dodge to the side, his fist sunk into its skull before surprising him as it punched through its skull.

Skidding to a stop while spinning to look at the decaying corpse behind him, Chad watched as its body decayed before frowning as an orb made out of light grey spiritual energy floated above where the corpse was.

Waiting until no notifications popped up, Chad frowned as he walked forward and hesitantly sunk his fingers into the orb, watching in surprise as the grey around the orb was drained into his body while leaving behind a sphere of blue spiritual energy that slowly faded into nothingness.

Watching as the grey energy around his hand sunk into his skin, Chad was surprised as he felt his Reiryoku growing in both quantity & density, feeling his slightly increased energy boosting his body a bit before smirking as he felt a few Hollow Reiryoku signatures rushing towards his location.

Time to truly test it out.

A/N: And we watch as Chad’s descent into power starts! Now, it’s time for the true story to begin!
