Dragon Creator

One key feature of Dragontwin is being able to create your own dragon. The goal here is to make the best dragon creator in existence, which I'm pretty sure we'll succeed in (to be fair, there isn't a whole lot of competition to begin with). The system itself has been mostly worked out at this point and the new dragon model is made to be customized with it. This will be the main priority along with ground movement once the first EA build is out, and there will even be a dedicated intern who gets to work on customization options.

The way it is planned to work is that the player can first select a base body type, which is essentially the type of skin (mostly scaly, potentially fur or feathers in the future) and general proportions, and whether it has two or four legs. After that it is possible to adjust many different areas of the dragon independently by swapping parts to add spikes, fins, horns, plates, wing types, etc. The head also has its own base head type that defines the general look of the head, which is then customized further by swapping parts and "sculpting" the proportions similar to how it worked in a previous sneak peek with a human head.

Finding a good way to partition the dragon into customizable areas has taken some effort since you want to maximize both customizability and quality, which are sometimes in conflict when customizable areas intersect or where there should be continuity across multiple areas. The areas that are currently planned to be customizable are: upper head (crest/horns etc), jaw (spikes/frills), chin, mouth (different teeth etc), tongue (for example split tip), eyes (color, pupils), neck (mostly back of the neck for fins/spikes), underside (runs along lower neck, belly, lower tail, different scales and plate setups), topside (back and upper tail), wings (including support for longer wing-body connections similar to a bat), legs, and tail end. Some of these areas will have a lot of options (like upper head and jaw) and some might only have two or three (tongue for example).

Of course you can also customize colors, although it hasn't been entirely decided how in-depth it will be. It will be either different regions where you can change colors independently, or possibly being able to paint freely like a miniature. There might also be different patterns to choose from that can maybe even be projected anywhere on the dragon, these are things that will be looked into later when it is implemented.

dont add fur or feathers since ur goal is hyper realism, realistic feathers and fur always looks mad glitchy and always looks like its matted, as if the creature has mange or somthin the only time i've seen actual good fur/feathers was in prehistoric planet, but that's clearly not meant to be anything more then a TV show, so they can make it as complex as they want since they dont have to worry about lag.

Hope we can change fire color too ! I'd love to create the big black dragon Cannibal with his green fire <3
