Ben and Gerald are a celebrated young couple. Ben is an accomplished pianist and Gerald a virtuoso on the cello. Together they make beautiful music in the concert halls and in the bedroom. They met at the conservatoire and have been together ever since. They do well...plenty of recording contracts and guest appearances. Their recording of the Beethoven Cello Sonatas is a best seller, partly because they appear shirtless on the album cover.
After a sellout concert, they go for a drink at their local gay bar, Shirtless. Both are horny after their success. On the way, they are drawn to a beautiful young violinist, busking on the street. He's good. Gerald is fascinated. So is the busker.
At the bar, they chat to Tommy, the owner, when the young busker walks in. Tommy won't serve him; he's clearly too young, but he lets him play in the corner for tips. He's still good. Gerald and Ben come over to him and it is clear that Gerald fancies the young boy. Ben is jealous and angry; 'He's a kid...Tommy won't even give him a drink, you idiot! He's jail-bait!' They have a row and Ben storms out. He is followed by a former old flame and they go back to Ben's for sex. Ben is angry and has angry sex but it remorseful afterwards.
Gerald is taken back to the busker's squat; he's homeless since his father discovered that he was gay. They have sex but Gerald is remorseful, thinking about Ben, the love of his life.
He goes back to Ben who is also feeling guilty but make it up in bed. Next morning, Gerald gets a phone call. 'You know you said you'd give me an audition for the trio?'
